Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) — a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization — is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional for the position of Warehouse Pharmacist.

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient management of pharmaceutical and vaccine inventory within the AKHS, P supply chain. The role focuses on maintaining quality standards, proper storage conditions, and accurate record-keeping of medicines and vaccines distributed to AKHS, P facilities across Sindh.

The incumbent will oversee all pharmaceutical handling processes, from receipt to dispatch, ensuring adherence to AKHS, P protocols, Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP), and national regulatory requirements. By maintaining strict controls on quality, documentation, and traceability, the Warehouse Pharmacist will play a vital role in safeguarding patient safety and supporting uninterrupted care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pharmaceutical Oversight: Supervise the receipt, inspection, and storage of all medicines and vaccines in compliance with AKHS, P policies and regulatory standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and real-time stock records, ensuring batch and expiry tracking.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor temperature, humidity, and storage conditions; investigate deviations and initiate corrective actions.
  • Vaccine & EPI Coordination: Oversee vaccine handling, documentation, and reporting in line with EPI Sindh protocols.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all local and national pharmaceutical regulations and Good Storage & Distribution Practices (GSDP).
  • Dispatch & Distribution: Supervise picking, packing, and dispatching of stock to health facilities; verify documentation accuracy.
  • Expiry & Waste Management: Manage segregation and safe disposal of expired or damaged products per AKHS, P and regulatory procedures.
  • Audit & Reporting: Prepare and maintain documentation for internal/external audits and implement recommendations.
  • Safety & Housekeeping: Promote a culture of orderliness, safety, and accountability within the warehouse.
  • Team Supervision: Provide technical guidance to warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs and continuous skill development.

Key Milestones in the First Six Months

  • 100 % traceability of stock by batch and expiry.
  • Zero dispatch of expired, damaged, or non-compliant items.
  • Temperature and storage records consistently within approved standards.
  • Timely, accurate, and compliant EPI vaccine documentation.
  • Positive audit outcomes with no major findings.
  • Reliable, timely dispatches supporting uninterrupted care across all facilities.

Qualification & Experience

  • B-Pharm or Pharm-D from a recognized institution.
  • 1 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical warehousing, logistics, or inventory management (fresh graduates with strong aptitude may also apply).
  • Familiarity with EPI Sindh vaccine protocols and pharmaceutical cold-chain management.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, documentation, and quality control.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High sense of responsibility, accuracy, and teamwork.
