Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan invites applications from qualified, experienced, and dynamic candidates for the position of Nutritionist based at BHCs in Garden & Karimabad, Karachi.
Position Summary:
Nutritionist will provide technical support in nutritional assessment, counselling, capacity building, and community awareness activities for older adults through facility-based service delivery as well as outreach camps ensuring nutritional screenings, individualized nutrition care plan, conducting nutrition education session, monitoring patients nutritional progress, capacity building of other staff & maintaining of patient’s data bases and periodical reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support in nutritional assessment, counselling, capacity building, and community awareness activities for elder population.
- Assess clients' nutritional needs, create personalized nutrition plans and monitor them based on their individual health goals and needs.
- Educate clients on healthy eating habits, the importance of a balanced diet, and how to make healthier food choices.
- Identify and manage malnutrition and nutrition related risks in the patients.
- Conducting group nutritional counselling sessions and awareness activities.
- Strengthening the capacity of health care providers focusing geriatric nutrition.
- Develop IEC materials to promote healthy dietary practices within the communities.
- Maintaining patient databases and regularly updating.
- Developing and sharing reports and success stories on regular basis.
- Performing any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualification, Experience & Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Dietetics or a related field
- At least 2 + years of experience in the relevant field.
- Can manage multiple tasks, teams, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Have experience working with community health initiatives.
