📢 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – DISTRICT SURVEY CONSULTANT
Position: District Survey Consultant
Duration: 1 Month
Key Responsibilities
The District Survey Consultant will be responsible for:
- Preparing the district implementation plan, field schedule, and supporting the Inception Report and survey tools.
- Recruiting, training, and supervising the district field team for household and non-household surveys.
- Managing the seven-day waste collection, segregation, characterization, and weighing process in accordance with the UN-Habitat Waste Wise Cities Tool (WaCT) methodology.
- Ensuring accurate digital data collection through SurveyCTO, including GPS records and supporting documentation.
- Conducting and coordinating Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with municipal authorities and relevant stakeholders.
- Liaising with local government departments, municipal authorities, communities, and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring quality assurance through daily supervision, spot checks, back-checks, scale calibration, coded waste bags, and data verification.
- Preparing GIS data, maps, photographs, waste tracking sheets, attendance records, consent forms, and other Means of Verification (MoVs).
- Submitting daily and weekly progress reports and resolving field implementation issues.
- Preparing the district completion package, including cleaned datasets, KII records, GIS outputs, MoVs, and the District Final Survey Report.
Required Skills & Experience
- Relevant academic qualification in Environmental Sciences, Waste Management, Social Sciences, Statistics, GIS, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in field surveys, household/non-household surveys, waste characterization, or similar research assignments.
- Experience in managing and supervising field teams.
- Familiarity with SurveyCTO or other digital data collection platforms.
- Knowledge of GIS/GPS-based data collection will be an advantage.
- Strong coordination, reporting, communication, and data quality assurance skills.
- Experience working with municipal authorities and local stakeholders will be preferred.
