Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Pharmacy Assistant based at Aga Khan Hospital, Gilgit.
Roles And Responsibilities:
- Receive and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Assist in preparing and dispensing medicines accurately.
- Label and package medications as per hospital guidelines.
- Provide basic information to patients on medicine collection and usage (non-clinical).
- Direct patient queries to the pharmacist when clinical advice is required.
- Assist in maintaining stock levels of medicines and supplies.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper storage conditions.
- Help in ordering, receiving, and shelving stock.
- Maintain records of medicine supply and dispensing.
- Assist in documentation of controlled drugs as per hospital regulations.
- Support billing and prescription entry in hospital systems.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
- Follow hospital policies and legal requirements related to pharmacy operations.
- Assist in safe disposal of expired or damaged medicines.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Diploma in Pharmacy
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Asst.
- Ability to speak and understand job-related English, sufficient to carry out nursing care instructions.
- Demonstrate polite and courteous behavior at all times.
- Demonstrate positive attitude to those in authority.
- Ability to give oral instructions/information to patients and visitors in Urdu.
