Project: Access to Climate Security and Environmental Justice in Gwadar, Balochistan
No. of Positions: 02 ( 01- Male -01 Female)
Duration: 07 months
Reporting To: Project Manager
1. Purpose of the Assignment
The M&E and Research Officer will support the project team in monitoring project implementation, collecting and analysing data, conducting field-based research, documenting results and preparing timely reports. The officer will ensure that project activities and results are systematically tracked against approved targets, indicators and workplans.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of the project's M&E framework, indicators and monitoring plan.
- Conduct regular field monitoring and verification of project activities in Gwadar.
- Collect, compile, verify and analyse quantitative and qualitative project data.
- Conduct/support KIIs, FGDs, community consultations and surveys.
- Monitor community-based interventions, including Climate-Resilient Social Action Projects and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Track community participation, feedback and grievance-redress activities.
- Maintain accurate M&E databases and supporting documentation.
- Prepare field monitoring reports, data summaries and inputs for periodic and final project reports.
- Document results, success stories, lessons learned and good practices.
- Ensure sex-disaggregated and other relevant data are appropriately captured.
- Provide evidence-based findings and recommendations to support project management and adaptive implementation.
- Coordinate with project staff, communities, government representatives and other stakeholders during monitoring and research activities.
3. Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Development Studies, Sociology, Public Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 04 years of relevant experience in monitoring, reporting, evaluation and research.
- Experience with stabilization, development and/or governance projects involving communities and government institutions.
- Prior working experience in Gwadar, Balochistan.
- Experience in field data collection, KIIs, FGDs and community consultations.
- Excellent English writing, reporting and analytical skills.
- Good command of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel; knowledge of KoboToolbox/ODK and data-analysis tools will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination and field-monitoring skills.
- Knowledge of local languages and context of Gwadar/Balochistan will be an advantage.
4. Key Deliverables
- Regular field monitoring and verification reports.
- Updated M&E database and data-quality records.
- KII/FGD and research documentation.
- Monitoring data and evidence for project progress reports.
- Case studies, success stories and lessons learned.
- Inputs to the project's interim and final reports.
