Position summary

The Court Clerk supports the litigation team by collecting court and case-related documentation, maintaining accurate records, preparing client files, and assisting with case administration. The role ensures timely collection of court documents, proper file maintenance, data updates, and reporting to support efficient litigation management and compliance with organizational standards.

Key responsibilities

1. Court Documentation & Collection

  • Collect case-related court documents on a daily basis.
  • Obtain and maintain attested Vakalatnamas, disposal orders, certified copies of judgments, bail orders, and other relevant court documents.
  • Collect police papers for Advocates after completion of copy supply by the prosecution.
  • Ensure all collected documents are properly organized and submitted to the relevant litigation team.
  • Follow up on pending court documentation and copies as required.

2. Client Files & Record Management

  • Prepare new client files with Vakalatnamas, entry forms, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure client files are complete, properly organized, and updated.
  • Maintain accurate Vakalatnama registers and related records.
  • Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of client and case information.
  • Support the litigation team in retrieving case records and documentation when required.

3. Reporting & Progress Tracking

  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports within prescribed timelines.
  • Track received and outstanding disposal orders and certified copies.
  • Share monthly progress updates during the first week of each month.
  • Maintain accurate records of pending and completed documentation.
  • Provide relevant data and updates to litigation management for case monitoring and reporting.

4. Litigation Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative and documentation support to Advocates and the litigation team.
  • Coordinate with relevant court offices and other authorities for collection of required documents.
  • Assist in maintaining organized litigation records and case-related information.
  • Support timely completion of documentation requirements related to litigation matters.

5. Additional Duties

  • Perform any other official duties assigned by Litigation Management or the relevant supervisor.

Requirements

  • Matriculation or Intermediate with Second Division, preferably Intermediate.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in court documentation, legal support, clerical work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with courts, legal offices, law firms, or litigation teams will be preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
  • Ability to organize and maintain physical and digital records.
  • Good follow-up and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
  • Ability to manage routine tasks within deadlines.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Basic understanding of court documentation and litigation processes.
  • Familiarity with Vakalatnamas, disposal orders, judgments, bail orders, and police papers.
  • Basic knowledge of document and records management.
  • Ability to read and write in English, Sindhi, and Urdu.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
