Job Purpose

The Artisan & Handicrafts Trainer will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical training in Handmade Jewellery to Afghan refugee women under Donor ASPIRE Phase II. The position requires one qualified trainer to ensure effective skills transfer, creativity development, and preparation of trainees for income-generating opportunities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on and theoretical training sessions in handmade jewellery design and production.
  • Demonstrate jewellery-making techniques, use of tools, materials, and finishing methods.
  • Ensure safe handling of tools and materials during training.
  • Guide trainees on product design, quality control, and basic costing concepts.
  • Monitor and assess trainee progress through practical assessments and final evaluations.
  • Maintain attendance sheets, assessments, and training documentation in line with Donor requirements.
  • Coordinate with project staff to ensure smooth delivery of training activities.
  • Support certification and toolkit distribution upon training completion.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by project management related to training delivery.

Key Deliverables

  • Completion of handmade jewellery training for targeted beneficiaries.
  • Trainees assessed and certified upon successful completion.
  • Complete and compliant training documentation and reports.
  • Trainees equipped with market-relevant jewellery-making skills.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in handmade jewellery design and production.
  • Prior experience as a skills trainer or artisan preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with refugee and vulnerable women groups.
  • Strong practical, instructional, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with basic documentation and reporting requirements.
