Job Summary

The Social Services Officer will be responsible for assessing the needs of vulnerable individuals or groups, developing support plans, and connecting them with essential resources. This role bridges the gap between the community and institutional support, requiring a deep understanding of social structures and human rights.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and interview individuals or families in need of assistance (e.g., elderly, orphans, victims of abuse, or low-income families).

• Conduct thorough socio-economic assessments and provide basic psychosocial support or guidance to clients.

• Act as a liaison between the organization and external NGOs, government departments (like Zakat/Bait-ul-Mal), and healthcare providers.

• Perform regular visits to local communities or sites to monitor the progress of beneficiaries and ensure the effectiveness of support programs.

• Maintain detailed, confidential case files and prepare monthly reports on service delivery and impact metrics.

• Represent the interests of the underserved and assist them in navigating legal or bureaucratic hurdles to access their rights.

Requirements 

• Education: BS (4 Years) or equivalent in Social Work, Sociology, or Anthropology from an HEC recognized university.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in social work, community development, or a related NGO/Public sector role.

• Strong interpersonal and active listening skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and data management.

• Solid understanding of Pakistan’s social welfare laws and community dynamics.

• Ability to deal with sensitive issues with compassion and professional boundaries.
