The purpose of this engagement is to support KRN DI team for the Program. It is expected that the consultant onboarded will help to develop a strategy that can address the following:
1. Monitoring & Evaluation
- Develop and manage the M&E framework for the program, aligned with program objectives and donor requirements.
- Establish indicators, methodologies and design tools for data collection, verification, and reporting.
- Oversee regular monitoring of program activities at field level, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and quality of data.
2. Third-Party Monitoring & Validation
- Manage third-party monitoring partners, including design of TORs, quality assurance of outputs, and integration of findings into program learning.
- Validate field-level data and reports to ensure reliability and accountability of program results.
- Conduct spot checks and verification exercises to triangulate data sources. 3. Feedback & Learning
- Establish and manage a robust feedback loop with implementing partners, and stakeholders to incorporate learning into program design and delivery.
- Identify gaps, risks, and implementation bottlenecks, and recommend evidence-based solutions.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and prepare learning briefs to strengthen program effectiveness and delivery.
4. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare high-quality reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) on program performance, outcomes, and lessons learned.
- Ensure timely submission of reports to donors, and relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze trends in health and nutrition indicators to assess program impact and inform policy dialogue.
5. Duration and Location:
This is a 12 months consultancy position based in Islamabad. The position may be extended based on performance and program needs.
6. Currencies of Bid, Contract and Payment
The financial proposal must be submitted in PKR only. The contract will only be offered in PKR and the payments shall be made in PKR on monthly basis.
Karandaaz will pay the successful consultant upon i) receipt of the invoice ii) approval from Karandaaz of the Contractor’s time sheet. Payment will be made in PKR, as agreed, to the account specified in the Contractor’s invoice within 30 days after the acceptance of deliverables and submission of invoice.
All payments for deliverables will be made in PKR to a consultant local bank account.
Consultant Requirements
Type of Consultant
Karandaaz intends to solicit proposals from an individual consultant for this exercise.
• The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in the development sector, preferably related to health and nutrition, along with strong expertise in monitoring and evaluation.
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, International Development, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Professional certifications in MEL are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of maternal and child health and nutrition indicators, and their integration into M&E frameworks.
• Experience in designing and managing data collection tools, surveys, and field validations. • Excellent skills in data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and report writing.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills. The role requires attention to detail, multi-tasking and dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Understanding of Karandaaz areas of work
• Fluency in written and oral English is required; basic fluency of regional languages will be a plus. • Proficiency in Excel, Word and designing presentation is a prerequisite.
• Ability to travel to different locations in Pakistan, as required.
