Supporting Local Media Outlets to Improve Viability and Professionalism
Are you a digital media innovator, trainer, or practitioner working at the intersection of journalism, technology, and sustainability?
Can you translate your expertise into practical, engaging, and market-relevant e-learning experiences for journalists, media entrepreneurs, and digital content creators?
Tribal News Network (TNN) invites experienced media development experts, trainers, educators, and industry practitioners to design and deliver high-impact online courses for its e-learning platform www.mediaviability.com
We are particularly looking for professionals who combine strong domain expertise with the ability to apply and integrate advanced AI tools both during course development and as teaching content.
What We Are Looking For
We are not only looking for subject matter experts, but for professionals who can:
■ Transform their expertise into structured, interactive, and learner-centered e-courses for digital media outlets and journalists.
■ Use advanced and visual AI tools (for example in scripting, video creation, design, research, and automation) as part of both the content and the course production process
■ Deliver practical, real-world learning experiences with actionable tools, case studies, and workflows
■ Support learners through mentorship and guided learning, during and potentially after the course
Priority Course Areas (2026)
TNN plans to develop four core courses in 2026:
■ Revenue Models and Monetization Strategies for Digital Media Outlets on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tribal Regions
■ Viability and Sustainability through AI integration in workflows
■ Artificial Intelligence in Journalism and Media Production: Focus on Visualization, Audio, Delivery, Dissemination
■ Interactive Content Formats and Community and Reporting with focus on fact Checking, Access, Participation, Results, Ownership and Trust.
Each selected expert will develop one course within their area of specialization.
Additional Thematic Areas (Open for Proposals)
We also welcome innovative course ideas in areas such as:
■ Digital media business development and entrepreneurship
■ Audience engagement, growth, and trust building
■ Product thinking and media innovation
■ Local and community-centered content models
■ Solutions journalism and development communication
■ Multimedia storytelling and interactive formats
■ Data journalism and verification in the age of AI
■ Newsroom workflows, automation, and AI integration
■ Platform strategies (YouTube, TikTok, newsletters, etc.)
■ Media management and leadership in digital environments

Role and Responsibilities
Selected course creators will:
■ Design and develop a complete, structured e-learning course using engaging formats such as video, audio, case studies, simulations, quizzes, assignments and other options/tools available on a Moodle based platform.
■ Integrate AI-powered tools and workflows into both course content and production
■ Ensure courses are practical, applicable, and tailored to local media realities
■ Incorporate feedback from TNN and stakeholders (up to three revision rounds)
■ Develop assessment and evaluation mechanisms
■ Provide mentorship and learner support during course delivery
■ Optionally contribute to post-course engagement or advanced mentoring tracks
Deliverables
■ Fully developed and published e-course on the platform
■ Multimedia learning materials (videos, scripts, presentations, datasets, tools)
■ Built-in assessments (quizzes, assignments, practical exercises, AI)
■ Revised and quality versions based on feedback
■ Active learner engagement and mentorship during course rollout
Target Audience and Language
Courses will primarily serve journalists, media professionals, and media entrepreneurs across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the Newly Merged Tribal Districts.
- Potential Course Languages: Urdu, Pashto, English
Eligibility Criteria
Mandatory
■ Demonstrated expertise in media/journalism trainings/teachings, expertise in digital content, or media business and viability
■ Proven experience in e-learning or training content development.
■ Strong working knowledge of Moodle or similar LMS platforms
■ Hands-on ability to use advanced AI tools for content creation, design, and production
Highly Desirable
■ Experience working with local or regional media ecosystems
■ Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging learning experiences
■ Experience in mentoring, coaching, or training professionals
■ Strong storytelling and instructional design skills
