An INGO is seeking a Health & Nutrition Officer for Quetta Office to oversee program implementation and partner coordination.
Position Objective: Health & Nutrition Information Management Officer will work closely with Project Manager, MEAL Manager, MEAL Officer and Project Officer and will support the health and nutrition project data collecting, managing, and reporting data from health facilities and Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) sites. The HNIM Officer will ensure efficient data flow, compilation, and reporting to inform decision-making for health and nutrition interventions. Additionally, the role involves providing technical support to OTP sites and supporting the Directorate of Nutrition on nutrition information management systems. HNIM Officer can visit field areas at Partner’s project offices for database and data-sets review.
Relevant Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science or relevant technical qualification and or with Diploma in information management sciences or relevant degree/course
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with social/public sector in designing and programming database management system for health and nutrition interventions is required. Must be able to perform database development fundamentals, problem solving, cleaning, tuning, and database security is required.
Job Description:
Mission 1: Data/Information Management
The HNIM Officer is responsible to
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the nutrition information database.
- Maintain an organized data collection system for all Health Facility and OTP site data.
- Compile collected data into periodic reports, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Design, develop and manage databases, spreadsheets and other data tools; especially project and activities information gathering data tools with the support of technical project focal person
- Understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value data for accuracy, consistency and comparability
- Consolidate operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis and design and implement sustainable information management and dissemination systems for data collections
- Develop and implement proper backup, restore, data validation, and security procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
- Conduct regular field visits to Health Facilities and OTP sites for data verification, monitoring, and troubleshooting any data collection issues.
Mission 2: Data Analysis and Reporting
The HNIM Officer is responsible to:
- Organize, design and carry out the evaluation and analyze trends in the data to identify gaps, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Routinely review datasets, project document, MEAL Plans, IM & reporting plans and ensure the quality of high-value data for accuracy, consistency and comparability.
- To ensure data quality standards during data cleaning and analysis of each project’s database.
- Produce and update information products such as charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline as well as support strategic and operational decision-making
- Prepare and share timely Activity Progress Report (APR)
- Prepare, compile, and update routine project reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) in coordination with relevant teams.
- Ensure data security, data protection and responsible data-sharing.
Mission 3: Support to Department of Health, and Nutrition Directorate on nutrition information management
The HNIM Officer is responsible to:
- Assist Local Department in strengthening nutrition information management systems.
- Provide capacity-building support to Local Department OTP Staff on data management, including data collection tools, reporting formats, and analysis.
- Support Local Department in preparation of presentations, dashboards updates, visualization of nutrition and reporting.
- Collaborate with relevant government departments, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure data integration and sharing.
Mission 4: Training/Technical Support and coordination
The HNIM Officer is responsible to:
- Provide training on data collection tools and input, information systems and reporting to health and nutrition team of partner
- Provide maintenance and end user technical support in issues relating to the database use and administration, including trouble-shooting for data entry, cleaning, analysis to the existing database
- Maintain close coordination with OTP site staff, district health officers, nutrition directorate and DoH personnel to ensure seamless data collection and reporting.
- Act as a point of contact for health and nutrition information management, providing timely updates and responding to data-related queries.
- Ensure health and nutrition project related information is well represented on various forums, including Technical Working Group and other forums
Mission 5: Data archiving (hard & soft)
The HNIM Officer is responsible to:
- Ensure that the data-sets according to MEAL plan are gathered, reviewed as per indicator’s requirement and stored in specified path.
- Develop tracking system for data-sets received from partners according to MEAL Plan.
- Store soft and hard data and files according to indicators in systematic way for each project.
Mission 6: Proactively support the INGO’s commitments to gender equality and child protection sensitivity

- Implement all work‑related activities with a gender, inclusion, and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns, and ideas of staff and beneficiaries.
