The Role Agronomist/Capacity Building Manager

The selected candidate for this position would be responsible to look after the implementation of project plans at assigned sites under guidance of Project Manager and with the Project Region Coordinators

Job Description:

The capacity building manager will be expected to develop an effective training plan within CABI Pakistan for capacity building of Better Cotton farmers. He/She will also be responsible but not limited to;

  • Seek the opportunities of business for the organization, development of project proposals and coordination with the donor.
  • To conduct the Training of Trainers (TOT) and Refresher workshops for the field staff to build their capacities.
  • Develop an implementation plan and ensure the successful implementation of project activities.
  • Support producer units to develop an effective training plan for capacity building of field staff, Better Cotton farmers and their workers.
  • Quality assurance of the field staff capacities and farmers' training.
  • To Support in the implementation of the Corrective Action Plan given by BCI through PU Managers
  • To develop the training and capacity building material for technical field staff and farmers
  • Facilitate and train project staff and the farming community regarding Better Cotton production
  • Meetings with farmers for monitoring, verification, capacity building and backstopping
  • To ensure the necessary documentation and training record maintenance at Farm and Producer Unit and Project level.
  • Complete and timely submission of any sudden assignment given by management.
  • Facilitate in development of monthly, quarterly, Mid-term, and end year report of the project.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated, an enthusiastic team player, and able to manage conflicting priorities.

Education & Experience

  • Candidate should have earned at least M.Sc. (Hons) degree in Agronomy or a related field of Agriculture.
  • Candidate having the 3-4 years of experience to conduct the trainings in the field of Agriculture will be given preference.
  • Candidates with the certificate of Training of Facilitators (ToF) and having experience with Farmer Field School (FFS) approach, Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) will be given preference.
  • Experience and ability to train field staff including producer unit managers, field facilitators and female staff.
  • Strong understanding of cotton production technology and its sustainability issues.

  • Contract Duration: 9 months including 3 months’ probation period
