Position Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Intern
Location of Workstation: Karachi
Type of Job: Internship (3 Months)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Intern will support the implementation of the project Strengthening State’s Response to Sexual Violence, Child Marriages, and Domestic Violence by assisting with monitoring activities, data collection, documentation, reporting, and programme support. The position will work closely with the Assistant Manager and the project’s M&E focal person to track project outputs, maintain data quality, and support evidence-based programme implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitoring and Data Collection
a. Conduct field monitoring visits to trainings, advocacy meetings, launch events, and service facilities to document observations and participant feedback
b. Administer pre- and post-training assessment tools and organize completed assessments for analysis
c. Support process monitoring activities, including attendance tracking, session monitoring, and adherence to activity plans
2. Data Entry and Tracker Management
a. Enter and update activity output data in project monitoring trackers
b. Enter, clean, and organize assessment data for reporting and analysis purposes
c. Maintain project activity logs, including activity details, participant numbers, and implementation status
d. Verify and cross-check data against source documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
3. Documentation and Reporting
a. Collect, organize, and maintain activity documentation, including attendance records, reports, photographs, and supporting materials
b. Compile monthly activity summaries and support documentation consolidation exercises
c. Assist in drafting M&E-related sections of programme reports under supervision
d. Maintain organized records and evidence files in accordance with project requirements
4. Programme Support
a. Provide logistical and administrative support during trainings, workshops, meetings, and events
b. Support participant registration, attendance management, and event documentation activities
c. Assist with delivery of official correspondence and follow-up activities as required
d. Support programme staff with other project-related assignments as assigned
REQUIREMENTS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
Education
a. Currently enrolled in the 3rd year of a Social Sciences programme (Sociology, Gender Studies, Public Policy, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field) at a recognized Pakistani university and entering the 4th year in September 2026
Knowledge and Experience
a. Demonstrated interest in monitoring and evaluation, research, programme management, or development sector work
b. Familiarity with data collection, reporting, or research methodologies will be an advantage
Technical Skills
a. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic analysis
b. Familiarity with data collection and monitoring tools will be considered an asset
c. Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
Core Competencies
a. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
b. Good analytical and organizational skills
c. Effective written and verbal communication skills
d. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines
e. Willingness to undertake field monitoring visits within Karachi and Hyderabad as required
f. Commitment to survivor-centred, trauma-informed, and gender-responsive programming principles
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the internship, the M&E Intern will have gained:
a. Hands-on experience in programme monitoring, data collection, and M&E systems management
b. Practical understanding of donor reporting and evidence-based programme decision-making
c. Exposure to GBV programming, ARCC operations, and multi-stakeholder coordination
d. Experience conducting field monitoring visits and documenting programme implementation processes
