Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating key activities for projects aimed at advancing our organization's mission and goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and writing abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project manager in the planning and execution of multiple projects.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day planning and supervision of specific projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and schedules, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks and obstacles.
  • Conduct research on politics and policy; writing and editing briefing papers, discussion papers, background papers, reports, etc.
  • Organize meetings of various groups for the projects, including preparing agendas, working papers, logistical arrangements, minutes taking, and follow-up of resolutions.
  • Interact with various government and non-government organizations to collect data and hold discussions, fostering collaborative relationships and gathering valuable insights.
  • Manage the advertising of programmes and activities on digital and print media platforms, including content creation for advertisements, social media posts, and website updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in project management roles, preferably within the political or public policy sector.
  • Strong understanding of political dynamics, policy development processes, and the broader socio-economic landscape.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
