Role Overview:
We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives within our organization. In this key role, you'll provide leadership and direction, driving the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects aimed at addressing critical issues in the political landscape. Applicants who have work experience with international donor organizations such as USAID, FCDO, UN organizations etc. will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement strategic project plans
- Provide oversight and direction to project teams
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and funders.
- Anticipate and address stakeholder needs and concerns proactively.
- Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Research and Policy Analysis:
- Lead research efforts on complex political and policy issues, guiding the team in gathering and analyzing relevant data.
- Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and policy recommendations.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and developments in the political landscape.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and coach project team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the project team.
- Lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership and ethical behavior in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects in a non-profit or policy-oriented environment, especially with international donor organizations such as USAID, FCDO, UN organizations etc.
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving project objectives.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Deep understanding of political dynamics and policy issues, with a passion for driving positive social change.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
