In Pakistan, CARE started its operations in 2005 and since then supported the Government of Pakistan’s efforts to reduce poverty and suffering of the people affected by disasters. CARE’s programs focus on helping Pakistan to achieve its Sustainable Development Goals especially in the areas of Health, Education, Women’s Economic Empowerment and Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR). Since starting operations in Pakistan, CARE International in Pakistan (CIP) has responded with life-saving support to a series of large-scale disasters. CIP works through its local partners and a range of stakeholders for development, as well as emergency response related interventions, which makes collaboration a key component of its work, across the country. We are a nationally inclusive organization that strives to support the most vulnerable communities all over Pakistan, with particular attention to women and girls and youth.

I. JOB SUMMARY:

CARE is a leading humanitarian organization that has been dedicated to fighting global poverty for 75 years. CARE has decades of global experience and proven success working with small-scale women producers.

Since the onset of 2022 monsoon floods in Pakistan, CARE International has initiated much needed life-saving humanitarian responses for flood affected communities in Baluchistan, Sindh and Punjab provinces.

The Position will be based at CARE Country Office Islamabad with frequent travel to the field.

II. Role and Responsibilities:

Reporting and Coordination: % of Time:  70%

  • Write, edit and develop content related to the humanitarian response projects.
  • Coordinate and collect content from field teams for internal and external reporting.
  • Compile, review, edit and polish inputs received from the field teams for donor and government reporting.
  • Coordinate with field team and partners for donor and other reporting to key stakeholder;
  • In collaboration with the project teams, prepare situation reports, project letters, brochures, communications plan, one-pagers, social media and other material that communicates the humanitarian response activities. Seek internal approvals for reports and social media posts;
  • Maintain and update Project progress/ output trackers/ minimum preparedness actions.
  • Compile and share updates related to humanitarian response for quarterly, annual CARE Global Humanitarian reports.
  • Compile, update and share 5Ws matrices with coordinating bodies including Clusters, Working Groups and PHF)
  • Respond to the ad-hoc reporting requirements by the CIP.
  • Works in cohesion with the team members for accurate flow of information across all thematic areas of the project.
  • Coordinate with and support team members to meet reporting & communication commitments and deadlines. Maintain and circulate a reporting matrix.
  • Coordinate with partners/stakeholders and ensure accurate flow of information within the Project team and with external teams within CARE and partner organizations, coordinating bodies and forums.
  • Build synergies among different stakeholders which includes CARE Project teams, Implementing partners, humanitarian actors, relevant Government departments and other key players.

 Implementation: % of time: 15%

  • Facilitate project teams in preparation and approval of partnership documentation.
  • Prepare requisitions and coordinate with the Procurement team regarding various services needed under the humanitarian response projects.
  • Maintains a calendar of activities/ events and coordinates with relevant teams for organizing the activities/ events.
  • Design and facilitate in the development of content for workshops, training sessions and meetings etc.

Monitoring and evaluation and promote visibility of humanitarian response through relevant channels: % of time: 10%

  • Prepare reports for progress review, reflections and learning workshops that can guide future Projects/Interventions.
  • Collect and compile success stories, case studies and insights from the field.
  • Support Humanitarian team to promote visibility of CARE emergency response projects through relevant channels in collaboration with communications team.
  • Ensure that project documentation is compliant with CARE standards and reports are prepared well in time.
  • Conduct all business in a manner that respects local culture.

Any other task as assigned by the supervisor: % of time: 05%

  • Any other tasks or responsibilities based on organizational, and team needs as assigned by Line Manager.
  • Safety and Security is everyone’s responsibility within CI through full compliance and accountability (as per Principle –ii of the CARE International Safety & Security Principles).

III. Job Specifications

A) EDUCATION/TRAINING

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business administration, social sciences and/or related field.

 B) EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • At least 2-5 years’ experience of working in similar positions with the reputed National, or international organizations at the Country/ head office.
  • Aware of community dynamics and humanitarian/ development sector Projects ecosystem of Pakistan.
  • Having experience of Humanitarian reporting

C) TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Basic knowledge in project reporting and communications as demonstrated by successful work experience
  • Demonstrated basic practical experience of coordinating with donor agencies and partner organizations
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Fair understanding of project implementation, reporting, communications and monitoring.
  • Understanding of key gender equality considerations, design, approaches and indicators for women’s economic empowerment and equality
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Urdu; knowledge of any other local language will be preferred
  • Excellent computer skills (MS office)

IV. Contacts/Key Relationships 

The incumbent is expected to collaborate with Project team at the Country Office, Partners, and all CARE Staff.

V. Working Conditions and Level of Travel Required

The position is based in Islamabad and may require frequent travelling to different parts of Pakistan. 

Note : This position will be offered till december 31, 2024.
