HDF is a non-profit organization registered under section 42 of Companies Act, 2017 of the Government of Pakistan. Using a holistic approach, HDF has been working in 05 programs including Social Capital Development, Education & Literacy, Primary Health Care, Economic Development, and Sustainable Environment to address the needs of the marginalized communities of Pakistan. HDF has been working in 40 districts across Pakistan.

HDF requires Edge Expert Services for one of its projects and is pleased to share TORs in this regard. All interested firms/individuals are requested to please provide their financial proposal as per submission detail shared in the document.

TORs for EDGE Expert:

Key Responsibilities:

• EDGE Assessment and Certification:
• Conduct comprehensive EDGE assessments for Project Mother and Child Centre, Khairpur, Sindh in accordance with EDGE standards. Refer to Annex-A
• Analyze building design and construction plans to identify opportunities for energy, water, and materials efficiency.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve EDGE certification targets.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for EDGE certification submissions.
• Liaise with EDGE certification body and address any queries or concerns.
• Technical Expertise:
• Provide technical expertise on sustainable building design and construction principles, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and material selection.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements and best practices in EDGE standards and green building technologies.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions to achieve EDGE certification requirements.
• Training and Capacity Building:
• Conduct training workshops and seminars on EDGE standards and sustainable building practices for project stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide project team members on EDGE implementation and certification processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainable building design and construction.
• Proven experience in conducting EDGE assessments and achieving certification.
• Strong understanding of EDGE standards and certification requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling software.

Deliverables:

• EDGE assessment reports, certification submissions, training materials, etc.

Reporting:

• weekly reports, monthly progress updates

Evaluation:

• Achievement of EDGE certification, timely completion of deliverables

TORs for EDGE Auditor:

Key Responsibilities:

• EDGE Audit Execution:

• Conduct on-site audits of the Project, which is Mother and Child Centre, Khairpur, Sindh in accordance with EDGE standards. Refer to Annex-A

• compliance with EDGE standards.
• Review and verify documentation submitted for EDGE certification, including design plans, construction specifications, and performance data.
• Assess the implementation of energy, water, and materials efficiency measures in accordance with EDGE requirements.
• Identify any discrepancies or non-conformities with EDGE standards and document them in a detailed audit report.
• Provide recommendations for corrective actions to address any identified non-conformities.
• Technical Expertise:
• Possess a deep understanding of EDGE standards and certification requirements.
• Be familiar with sustainable building design and construction principles, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and material selection.
• Have experience in reviewing and interpreting technical documentation related to building design and construction.
• Communication and Reporting:
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including developers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports that clearly document the findings of the audit.
• Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to project teams to improve their EDGE compliance.
• Quality Assurance:
• Ensure the quality and integrity of the EDGE audit process.
• Maintain confidentiality of all project information.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards in conducting audits.
