Position Overview
The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of the "Capacity-building for Socially Diligent Agribusinesses (CSDA)" project of Helvetas. The role involves planning, execution, and monitoring of the project. The Project Manager will also be involved in stakeholder engagement, team management, and ensuring compliance with the project’s objectives to strengthen human rights and environmental safety within the rice and cotton value chains in Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and Implementation: Develop and oversee the implementation of the annual work plans and project activities in line with the project's logical framework.
- Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the main point of contact between Helvetas, partner NGOs, CSOs, private companies, and government bodies.
- Facilitate policy dialogues and advocacy efforts to support compliance with international frameworks like GSP+ and the EU CSDDD
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: Ensure effective implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) system, track progress and donor reporting
- Leadership and Team Management: Supervise the project team, including partner staff
- Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns: Oversee the design and execution of awareness campaigns targeting businesses, farm laborers, and other stakeholders on their roles and rights. This includes project visibility assurance.
- Financial Oversight: Ensure financial accountability and compliance with donor regulations, including budget management and expense tracking.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 12 years of development experience in donor-financed project, including those financed by EU.
- At least 5 years of experience managing development projects, preferably in private sector development, social due diligence and sustainability sectors.
- Expertise in capacity-building, advocacy, and value chain interventions.
- Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong and proven writing skills in English and fluent presentation skills
- Familiarity with international frameworks such as GSP+, EU CSDDD, and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
- Willing to be located in Lahore with frequent travel in the districts in Punjab and need-based travel to Islamabad
- Agreeable with annual salary package of maximum PKR 3 million including all social benefits offered by the organization before income tax deduction.
