We are looking a suitable candidate to fill the Position of Assistant Manager of Social Sectors and Business Development. The Assistant Manager of Social Sectors and Business Development will support the strategic growth of our organization within the development sector. This position will assist in identifying new business opportunities, building partnerships, and coordinating the execution of projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. The role is integral to the successful implementation of initiatives that contribute to the organization's growth and impact.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, Humanities, Communications or other relevant disciplines.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the social development sector (preferably in business/ program development and communications, development and management consulting)
  • Sound understanding of development and management consulting landscape, including development assistance projects and consulting services.

Job description

1.      Proposal Support:

  • Manage the complete screening process for the new social sectors development consulting business opportunities with the objective of identifying the relevant opportunities in a timely manner
  • Analyze the requirements of the screened project opportunities (scope of work and organizational capability amongst other aspects) to provide an informed recommendation for taking Go/ No Go decision
  • Lead preparation of Expression of Interest (EOI) documents in response to screened EOI solicitations
  • Work closely with the senior Social Sectors team to devise technical and field implementation approach and methodology for consulting assignments
  • Lead preparation of technical and financial proposals in response to Request for Proposals/ Request for Bids/ Notice of Funding Opportunities
  • Coordinate with the Social Sectors team and the sector experts
  • Steer the team assembling efforts for new proposals/ projects. This involves identifying qualified and suitable professionals/ sector experts, coordinating with them to seek their interest and availability, and working with them to prepare their profiles which are aligned with the requirements of the roles
  • Assist with technical and financial negotiations with clients on new projects.

2.      Institutional Partnerships:

  • Assist the senior team in devising and implementing the networking and partnerships strategy to help advance Social Sectors business development efforts
  • Schedule and coordinate networking and business development meetings in support of AiD’s initiatives and partnership strategy and assist with managing partner relations
  • Develop partner agreements/ MOUs/ association agreements
  • Prepare presentations for potential partner organizations and clients

3.      Experts Database:

  • Maintain the roster of professionals and consultants who are regularly required on new and ongoing Social Sectors projects
  • Arrange events/ meetings with existing and new professionals/ consultants on AiD’s roster as part of the engagement strategy

4.      Marketing Materials

  • Lead preparation of content for company’s marketing materials including brochures, introductory flyers, website, and social media.

5.      Project Backstopping:

  • Provide research, coordination and management support on ongoing projects. The specific project tasks will be assigned by the senior sector team depending on the project portfolio
  • Assist with backstopping and quality assurance of Social Sectors projects
