We are an International Non-governmental Organization looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Female Medical Officers

The FMOs will be responsible to manage the BHU team, providing OPD consultations, holding regular meetings with stakeholders, providing on job mentoring to medical and support staff and preparing and submitting timely data for compilation of donor report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the BHU team including medical and support staff.
  • Provide general OPD consultations for seasonal and communicable diseases to male, female and children.
  • Provide MNCH services.
  • Prescribe medicines as per WHO treatment guidelines and available in BHU pharmacy.
  • Screen high-risk cases and diseases not curable at respective health facility and insure an effective and timely referral to a higher-level healthcare facility as per standard referral protocol.
  • Provide on-the-job mentoring to Dispensers/LHVs/SMs/Nutrition Assistants for their capacity building.
  • Ensure a good standard of cleanliness is maintained in BHU.
  • Ensure staff supervised by her is working efficiently & effectively as per their TORs.
  • Check HMIS tools to ensure they are properly managed, updated and maintained on regular basis.
  • Maintain good working relationship with stakeholders particularly targeted communities.
  • Assess/analyse situation in case of emergencies such as disease outbreaks and epidemics and immediately report it to her supervisor for a timely action.
  • Ensure all equipment in BHU is in good working condition.
  • Ensure all assets/inventory is properly listed and physically present in BHU.
  • Ensure staff regularly mark their attendance (arrival & departure timings).
  • Submit weekly/monthly OPD data with project office without any delay for compilation.
  • Conduct spot checks in pharmacy and labour room.
  • Chair monthly health facility meetings convened at BHU level to orient communities on health issues and preventive measures to avoid diseases.
  • Chair staff meetings convened at health facility level/project office.
  • In case of an emergency/incident, immediately report it to her supervisor.
  • Guide social mobilization team in preparing their weekly/monthly work plans.
  • Participate in capacity development trainings organized by Malteser International or any other partner organization.
  • Do not leave the duty station without informing her supervisor.
  • Inform Supervisor/Project Office in case of an incident/emergency.
  • Accomplish any other job-related task assigned by the Supervisor (s).

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • MBBS from a PMDC recognized medical college/university in Pakistan.
  • Registered with Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) and having a valid license.
  • House job done in Medicine and Gynae/Obs.
  • Minimum four (4) years working experience in a similar position with INGO or a well reputed organization.
  • Additional relevant qualification/post-graduation will be an asset.
  • Experience working as a medical officer preferably in KP province.
  • Fluently speaks Pashto and Urdu.
  • Ability to work under difficult circumstances.
  • A good team player.
  • Punctual/regular in duties.
  • Honest, committed and flexible in attitude.
  • Respect and practice organizational policies/rules.
  • Familiar with local culture.
