Vacancy Announcement Female Psychosocial Counsellors (3)
We are an International Non-governmental Organization looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Psychosocial Counsellors for three locations (Peshawar, Charsadda & Nowshera Districts)
Psychosocial Counsellor will be responsible for conducting assessments and tests of people in need of MHPSS services, diagnosing any issues, conducting psychosocial counselling sessions, and developing strategies and treatments to overcome their mental health issues. In case a patient needs specialized care, Psychosocial Counsellor could timely refer the patient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing patients for indications of mental health disorders.
- Diagnose their emotional, mental, and behavioral disorders.
- Create and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes.
- Provide counselling to individuals and groups through individual or group sessions.
- Using psychotherapy to improve the quality of life for individuals, groups, and families.
- Supporting patients who have experienced traumatic life events.
- Providing ongoing care and evaluation to patients with long-term difficulties.
- Monitor client progress through regular meetings or sessions.
- Referring patients to other specialists or doctors as needed.
- Promote healthy behaviors for preventing diseases and improving patients' quality of life.
- Conduct orientation sessions for health facility staff and project beneficiaries on PFA.
- Participate in capacity development trainings organized by Malteser International or any other partner organization.
- Attend staff meetings convened at health facility/project office.
- Do not leave the duty station without informing Supervisor.
- Inform Supervisor/Project Office in case of an incident/emergency.
- Accomplish any other job-related task assigned by the Supervisor (s).
Required Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s degree in psychology from a recognized and well reputed university.
- Strong listening, observation, and communication skills.
- Highly analytical mindset.
- Empathy and sensitivity when working with patients.
- Expert diagnostic skills.
- At least for four (04) years with an INGO preferably in KP province.
- Fluently speaks Pashto.
- Ability to work under difficult circumstances.
- A good team player.
- Punctual/regular in duties.
- Honest, committed and flexible in attitude.
- Respect and practice organizational policies/rules.
- Familiar with local culture.
- Registered member of Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA) will be an added value.
