General mission

The MHPSS Trainer having university degree in Psychology with at least 3 years of experience, is responsible for delivering trainings on mental health and mentoring the trainees in field and will report to the Project Manager.

Missions / responsibilities

Mission 1: Training

The MHPSS Trainer:

  • will deliver capacity building trainings in the field to the Afghan refugee and the Host community using primarily Pashto and Urdu as medium of delivery.
    • will arrange and conduct supervision sessions with the trainees and track their progress through digital medium
  • stay in close collaboration with the MHPSS Consultant for conducting TNAs and reviewing content of new topics (if identified)

Mission 2: Contextualization of Training Content

  • Along with the MHPSS Consultant, the MHPSS Trainer will assist in contextualization of training’s additional content according to the local context only   if needed
  • Uses training methods approved in the training manual and brings variation only if needed with strong justification

Mission 3: Field Management

  • Is responsible for arranging training venues within the community
  • Is responsible for liaising with other implementing partners in the field to avoid duplication
  • Has knowledge of community based development to involve the trainees in the process of trainings, development of small proposals on community-based initiatives & MHPSS related activities, and decisions about local psychosocial interventions with close mentoring

Mission 4: Report Writing & Data Collection

  • Has excellent report writing skills to submit training and supervision sessions reports
  • Is aware of data collection methods in the field
