The job description specifications will be reviewed on a regular basis keeping in view the evolving role of Curriculum Manager.

 

Job Purpose:

The role involves managing the day-to-day operations for Secondary and Higher Secondary grades, with responsibilities spanning content development, logistical support, curriculum implementation, and coordination across multiple departments. Key duties include raising PRs, ensuring budget compliance, and liaising with the Curriculum Director.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Fulfills an overall responsibility of providing  support to Curriculum Director to manage content development and dissemination  to the project, including:

 

Material Development & Support

Lesson Design:

  • Develop and review subject lessons, as determined by team through needs-analysis, ongoing (unit) tests, and resource materials.
  • Update and organize lesson plan repository for secondary and higher secondary grades

Scheme of Work (SOW):

  • Review and maintain subject-specific SOWs, ensuring they align with instructional strategies, the curriculum framework and project-specific standards or textbook sequencing.

Assessment Development:

  • Design /Review developed standardized student and teacher assessments for specified grade levels aligned with national standards and agreed specifications. Additionally, the corresponding marking schema will also be required (as per the provided description) for the relevant subjects

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with consultants, the Curriculum Director, and other teams to ensure material meets required standards and guidelines.
  • Manage content development schedule and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure materials are provided on time.
  • Serve as liaison between consultants and Curriculum Director, sharing feedback from the field (including but not limited to, support from Training, M&E, Program, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager for Curriculum Design to ensure adherence to DIL guidelines for lesson plan formats.
  • Conduct scheduled meetings with the US and Pakistan based teams as per an arrangement that is workable for all

 

Implementation

  • Monitor teachers’ scheme of work and teaching & learning materials through conducting virtual observation of subject teachers
  • Coordinate schedule for SOW Orientations and Classroom Observations/Visits with Program and training teams
  • Ensure curriculum plans and activities are executed as per LFA

Monitoring & Support 

Data Compilation

  • Compile field visit data and share with the Curriculum Director.
  • Establish, monitor and respond to Virtual Teacher Community of Practice via WhatsApp

Observation Management

  • Ensure observations are conducted by team members according to plan, using tools provided

Information Maintenance:

  • Maintain school, teacher and enrollment information in conjunction with program team
  • Raise purchase requisitions for the specified grade levels with the curriculum department
  • Provide project budget management support
  • Ensure proper dissemination of information between teachers, trainers projects and staff, developing cross-functional coordination, resolving communication issues and encouraging creative problem solving

 

Communication, Coordination & Administrative

 

Material Management:

  • Ensure timely development and delivery of content and resources to meet project deadlines.

Administrative Support:

  • Raise purchase requisitions, manage the budget, and ensure proper communication across teams.
  • Update and maintain lesson and assessment repository

Reporting:

  • Submit regular progress reports on project activities.

Research & Development (R&D)

Policy Alignment:

  • Stay updated with national policies and ensure that the curriculum aligns with government standards.

Stakeholder Liaison:

  • Coordinate with government stakeholders to ensure the organization's participation and compliance with national educational objectives.

Technical Knowledge:

 

 

Curriculum Development:

  • Experience in developing curriculum materials, assessments, SOWs, and reports.
  • Strong knowledge of secondary level pedagogy

National Standards

 

  • Familiarity with National Curriculum and ability to present the curriculum in a coherent manner

Secondary Based Teaching

  • Knowledge of secondary level content requirements and mandatory assessments
  • Knowledge of subject-specific teaching methodologies and proven strategies

 

Assessing Learning

  • Knowledge of formal and informal methods of assessing learning 

 

Budgeting:

  • Experience in budget preparation and management.

 

Technology Proficiency:

  • Competence in MS Office and Google Suite, with the ability to leverage technology for distance learning (if applicable)

 

Education, qualification, skills and experience:

Education: (Formal degree)

 

  • Masters Degree from a recognized University in Education and Specific subject.

 

Qualification: (Certification, diploma in training etc)

 

  • Certificate in teacher training

 

(Relevant) Experience:

 

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience teaching at the secondary level
  • 5+ years of management experience in a school or education sector

 

Skills: (Essential and Desirable)

 

  • Communication Skills:

Excellent oral and writing skills in English language

  • Strategic Thinking and Orientation:

Ability to apply strong analytical skills in the development of long term and short term plans.

  • Decision Making Skills:

Ability to work under minimum supervision. A multitasking spirit to handle tough situations and stringent circumstances.

  • Leadership Skills:

Ability to provide leadership and guidance as mentor to peers and trainers in accordance with the developmental needs.

  • Interpersonal skills: 

Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to create a climate of trust and transparency.  Fostering team work and performing effectively in a team.

Technical knowledge/ know how

Curriculum Development:

  • Experience in developing curriculum materials, assessments, SOWs, and reports.
  • Strong knowledge of general pedagogy

 

National Standards

  • Familiarity with National Curriculum and ability to present the curriculum in a coherent manner

 

Secondary Based Teaching

  • Knowledge of student-centered teaching methods; Knowledge of subject- Knowledge of secondary level content requirements and mandatory assessments
  • Knowledge of subject-specific teaching methodologies and proven strategies
