Z.M.K. & Co. invites applications for the position of Social Media Manager to support UNICEF in the National Emergency Action Plan for Polio Eradication. 

Purpose for the Job:

The Social Media Officer will lead digital engagement efforts for the Polio Eradication Programme, managing awareness campaigns for the Islamabad audience and overseeing the national and provincial digital influencer initiative to drive behavior change.

Job Description:

 

  • Develop platform-specific high-quality, engaging, and culturally appropriate monthly content calendars in both English and Urdu to educate the public about the importance of polio vaccination and the risks of polio.
  • Monitor comments, messages, and engagement on social media posts to respond to queries, address concerns promptly, and track sentiment.
  • Identify and map key national and provincial social media influencers relevant to for the audience we want to reach
  • Develop and implement a strategy to engage influencers effectively to amplify polio vaccination messages.
  • Conduct training and workshops with social media influencers to ensure clear, convincing,g and persuasive messages.
  • Conduct trainings and workshops for journalists on the use of social media
  • Oversee the UInfluence program of UNICEF
  • Monitor and assess social media influencer’s effectiveness and impact
  • Identify and map social media groups and their admins to engage in message dissemination 

Minimum Qualification & Competencies:

Education

  • A university degree in communication, marketing, advertising or any other related fields.

Work Experience

  • At least five (5) years of experience in one of the following fields is required: digital communication management, digital campaign management, communication and PR, and content development.
  • Two (2) years of experience in managing social media influencer activations would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in conducting training and workshops on using social media to influence behaviors will be considered an asset.  
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Experience in working with vulnerable communities or on public health initiatives will be considered an asset.

Skills

  • Excellent English and Urdu writing skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a focus on digital content
  • Sound understanding of public health initiatives in the context of Pakistan.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work very organized with high-level planning, interpersonal communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
  • Experience in digital media and brand management, ability to identify branding risk and suggest appropriate solutions.

Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in English and Urdu is required. Knowledge of other local languages is an asset.
