2. General Position Summary
The Advocacy & Engagement Officer will be based in Islamabad and will work under the direct supervision of the Program Manager in Islamabad.
Advocacy & Engagement Officer will provide backstop in policy, advocacy and programme related learnings at the country level. The role will include; development and implementation of country advocacy initiatives focusing on thematic areas of focus for the organisation The officer will map out key participation forums at both provincial and national levels to ensure that SIF contributes to the realisation of the organisations objectives besides packaging information/research findings and developing appropriate communication channels for dissemination of information/research findings; project documentation and dissemination; capacity building, learning and knowledge management. This role will also support additional advocacy activities from the projects within the field office on need basis.
3. Essential Job Function
MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES
The specific activities of the Advocacy & Engagement Officer will include the following:
- Collaborate with SIF senior management at CO and a focal person at the field to develop and implement an effective advocacy strategy based on SIF activities and the target audience.
- Provide advice and expertise to senior managers and staff on a range of advocacy and outreach issues, methods, and approaches. Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, and press releases (if needed) among various stakeholders.
- Work closely with program and MEAL teams for data extraction, compilation and dissemination through success stories, testimonials, annual reports, and weekly and monthly bulletins.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with government agencies/departments and journalists. Maintain digital media archives including photos, videos, written materials and a media database.
- Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of SIF (by the HQ guidelines), brand and coordinate events as required.
- Maintain records of media coverage about various SIF projects/activities and collaborate with the M&E team in the analysis of community complaints and managing community expectations.
- Draft communications and advocacy materials including newsletters, reports, promotional materials, and talking points for senior managers.
- Create timely and engaging success stories, lessons learnt and any other content that is optimized for various platforms to publish the content.
- Evaluate results and impact of communications activities; reports on developments, trends and attitudes.
- Assist the Manager in preparing detailed implementation plans and reviewing on monthly basis.
- Responsible to build the capacity and increasing the skills of community structures/target beneficiaries/stakeholders to engage in the best interest of vulnerable families and individual
- Studying different assessment reports, News articles, Government sector specific Policies, to the identify community issues and trigger the implementations gaps in public services provision at SIF target area.
- Backstop research study on various innovative streams to help chalk out advocacy plan allowing SIF to position Externally.

4. REQUIREMENTS |

Education: Masters in Political Science, International Relations, Social Work, Law and/or other related fields. |

Experience: 02 years (Preferred experience with INGOs) |
