Position Title: Education and Literacy Offer
Location: Hyderabad
Reporting to: Project Manager / Executive Director
Duration: 12 months, renewable based on performance and funding

1. Background

Sindh Community Foundation (SCF), established in 2001 and registered under the Societies Act in 2007, is a non-governmental organization based in Hyderabad, Sindh. It focuses on empowering marginalized communities—especially women, youth, and minorities—through initiatives in education, health, climate change, youth development, and social justice. SCF holds special consultative status with the UN ECOSOC and is PCP certified. With regional offices across Sindh, SCF has earned national and international recognition for advancing community resilience and rights-based development.

2. Purpose of the Position

The Education and Literacy Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring education and literacy projects. This includes community engagement, training facilitation, coordination with literacy centers and authorities, and monitoring progress to ensure objectives are met.

3. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement education and literacy initiatives in coordination with the program team.
  • Identify and assess educational needs in target communities.
  • Coordinate with literacy centers, teachers, community groups, and local authorities.
  • Develop and conduct awareness sessions on the importance of literacy and education.
  • Organize and facilitate capacity-building workshops and training sessions for teachers, youth, and community leaders.
  • Monitor and evaluate program activities; collect and analyze data on literacy outcomes.
  • Maintain regular communication with literacy centers to track progress and provide necessary support
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and final reports on project progress.
  • Support the development and distribution of educational materials.

4. Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience in nonprofit education project management or literacy-focused community initiatives.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of education systems, especially in rural or low-literacy contexts.
  • Experience working with local communities, schools, and education stakeholders.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Sindhi and English.
  • Report writing, data collection, and basic monitoring and evaluation skills.

6. Reporting and Supervision

7. Working Conditions

  • Based in Hyderabad.
  • Frequent travel to field sites and literacy centers may be required.
  • Occasional work on weekends or evenings, depending on project needs.
