Job Description
Position Title: Safe Home Coordinator
Reports To: Senior Programme Manager
Duty Station: Safe Home-Islamabad
Unit: Programme
Summary of Key Functions
The Safe Home Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and smooth functioning of the Safe Home. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Manager, the role ensures the safety, security, supportive and structured environment, and well-being of residents. The Coordinator oversees the implementation of work plans and ensures full compliance with organisational policies and the standards set by Inspire and UNHCR.
Roles and Responsibilities
Leadership, Management and Coordination
- Work closely with the Senior Programme Manager and the UNHCR concerned unit to ensure the smooth operation of the Safe Home.
- Uphold confidentiality principles and adhere to the code of conduct as per Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs).
- Ensure the Safe Home operates efficiently in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Liaise with law enforcement, social welfare departments, and other stakeholders as required.
- Gather feedback from residents and staff to identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor budgets and resource utilisation to ensure efficient use of funds.
- Manage resources effectively to meet the needs of residents and staff.
- Develop and implement daily schedules, routines, and individual care plans for residents.
- Oversee the well-being, discipline, and rehabilitation of residents.
- Ensure residents’ psychological, medical, and educational needs are addressed.
- Handle grievances and conflicts among residents in a professional and timely manner.
- Document all grievances and conflicts and escalate to the Senior Programme Manager and relevant UNHCR staff in sensitive cases.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and ensure documentation complies with organisational and donor requirements.
- Ensure adherence to child protection policies and gender-sensitive approaches.
- Promptly report any incidents, violations, or risks to resident safety.
- Monitor and maintain safety, security, and hygiene standards within the Safe Home premises.
- Implement security protocols and procedures in accordance with the approved SoPs to ensure resident safety.

- Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the CEO or supervisor.
- Support the administration of workshops, training sessions and meetings as part of the project’s activities.

- Strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and discretion.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- The Safe Home Coordinator is expected to fully adhere to Inspire’s Code of Conduct, Safe Home regulations, and confidentiality protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Gender Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in case management, protection, or shelter operations, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive issues and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and coordination experience.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work under pressure.
- Familiarity with protection principles, gender-based violence (GBV) guidelines, and Do No Harm (DNH) principles.
- Experience coordinating with government and non-government stakeholders is preferred.
