Key Responsibilities:

Job Responsibility No. 1  (45% of the time):

  • Engage in community mobilization meetings and training sessions for community-led FSL activities in collaboration with the project's Community Mobilization team
  • Assist in developing guidelines/SoPs for on-farm and off-farm livelihoods activities and ensure the enforcement of the implementation process as described by Organization
  • Support the Social Mobilization team in developing a detailed implementation plan for the livelihood sector
  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive technical training modules to enhance the capacity of smallholder farmers, strengthening their skills and knowledge for sustainable livelihoods and improved agricultural productivity
  • Foster strong coordination and collaboration with district line agencies, local authorities, project partners, program participants, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation and delivery of project activities.
  • Develop and deliver sessions on climate-resilient agriculture at the community level and support the establishment of climate-resilient demonstration sites
  • Strengthen linkages of smallholder farmers with inclusive markets and financial institutes to enhance productivity and increase income generation.
  • To work with community committees and Social Mobilization team to ensure the identification and selection of the most vulnerable and eligible population and provide information to ensure accountability, fairness and transparency during implementation of activities.
  • Work closely with community committees for identification of the most vulnerable beneficiaries according to criteria, ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the implementation of project activities.
  • Design and implement the livelihood related activities and play an active role in coordination and advocacy with local community and other stakeholders.
  • Design and conduct training for field staff and beneficiaries in the proposed interventions in the livelihood sector
  • To collect the required information in the field to facilitate the follow up of the project, with the support of the community mobilizers.
  • Support DTL & M & E team  in compiling reports with different frequency (monthly, quarterly and annually) on livelihoods intervention meeting donors and Organization requirements
  • Supported to M & E in conducting different surveys including baseline, endline, PDMs, assessment of hazard, risk and vulnerability of farming system, livelihood opportunity, agriculture and livestock service providers and current practices through methodology such as Resilience Index Measurement Analysis (RIMA) and Cropping Strategic Index (CSI)
  • Develop, compile and regularly update the livelihoods database at the field office and provincial level.
  • Provide technical guidance for the development of relief packages non-food/food items, dignity kits, fortified food for PLWs and infants.
  • Collect the required information in the field to facilitate the follow up of the project, with the support of the community mobilizers.
  • Collect information to ensure the surveillance of the Food Security situation around implementation of the project, when required.                  
  •  Conduct rapid assessment to identify locations of operational and food security needs.
  • Participate in assessments.

Job Responsibility No. 2  (40% of the time):

  • Plan, organize, and implement cash and in-kind distributions related to project activities, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the delivery process
  • Lead the vocational skills training trade analysis process and conduct TEVET mapping to identify market-driven skill development opportunities that align with industry demands and employment prospects.
  • Support M & E team to conduct tracer studies to evaluate training outcomes, assess the impact on beneficiaries’ livelihoods, and refine future training interventions for sustainable economic empowerment.
  • Conduct Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TEVET) mapping to design and implement effective training programs that enhance beneficiaries' employability and entrepreneurial potential
  • To collaborate to ensure the coherence of the different activities of the programs in collaboration with other Field staff.
  • To participate in debriefings with the Field teams and DTL.
  • To participate actively in initial training sessions and debriefing.
  • To ensure a good working relationship between government extension services and communities.
  • Read and ensure a full understanding of CIPs Gender, Child Protection and other safeguarding policies  
  • Implement all work-related activities with gender, inclusion and child protection lens
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability

Job Responsibility No. 3 (10% of the time):

  • To produce project activity reports from the area of operation as per reporting schedule or when needed.
  • To report any changes in the context to allow for timely changes in the project activities.
  • Coordination with the stakeholders.

5-Other Responsibilities as Assigned (5 % of the time):

Any other tasks or responsibilities based on organizational and programming needs as assigned by the Line Manager.

 

A)      Qualifications (Know How)

Required:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture, social sciences or equivalent

B)      Experience/ Technical Skills 

Required:

  • 5-7 years of experience in similar positions.
  • Experience in Agriculture, food security and livelihoods, MPCA modalities.
  • Deep understanding of local cultures in the area of implementation of the project (Sindh).
  • Knowledge of local languages of the area of implementation of the project.
  • Ability to take initiative where appropriate to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work.
