Scope of Work
The scope of work includes supporting the design, implementation, and analysis of research aligned with the NGO’s health programs. Responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, developing study tools, coordinating ethical field data collection, analyzing data, and preparing research outputs. Liaise with IRBs, integrate findings into programs, build field team capacity, and contribute to stakeholder engagement and dissemination activities.

Core Responsibilities:
- Support the design and implementation of research studies aligned with the NGO’s health programs and strategic objectives.
- Conduct literature reviews, needs assessments, and baseline surveys to inform programming.
- Assist in developing study protocols, sample size estimation, data collection tools, and consent forms.
- Coordinate data collection activities in the field, ensuring quality and adherence to ethical standards.
- Enter, clean, and analyze data using appropriate software tools.
- Draft research reports, abstracts, and manuscripts for publication or donor reporting.
- Liaise with institutional review boards (IRBs) to ensure ethical compliance.
- Collaborate with program teams to integrate research findings into program planning and improvement.
- Support capacity-building of field teams in data collection and research ethics.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings, presentations, and dissemination events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor in line with research priorities.

Educational & Experience Requirement
The individual holding this position shall possess the following:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in health research, preferably with NGOs, academic institutions, or public health programs.
- Additional training in research methodology, biostatistics, or data management is an asset.
- Familiarity with ethical principles in health research and IRB processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, or NVivo).
- Experience in both quantitative and qualitative research design, data collection, and analysis.
- Prior involvement in proposal development, literature reviews, field assessments, and report writing.
- Experience with community-based research and working in diverse, multicultural teams.
- Experience with publication and dissemination of findings will be an added advantage.
