Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct climate risk and vulnerability assessments for infrastructure and development projects.

  • Develop and implement climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure project compliance with national climate policies, NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions), and international frameworks (UNFCCC, IPCC guidelines, SDGs).

  • Prepare and review Climate Change Impact Assessments (CCIA) and integrate findings into project planning.

  • Provide technical guidance on low-carbon, energy-efficient, and sustainable construction practices.

  • Coordinate with government agencies, donors, and stakeholders on climate-related initiatives.

  • Support the integration of renewable energy and green building concepts in project design.

  • Monitor greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, carbon footprint, and recommend reduction measures.

  • Prepare climate-related reports, proposals, and policy briefs for management and clients.

  • Conduct capacity-building and awareness programs for staff and partners on climate resilience.


Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in climate change, environmental management, or sustainability projects.

  • Proven track record in climate risk assessments, adaptation planning, and mitigation strategies.

  • Experience working with international donors, NGOs, or government bodies on climate-related programs.

  • Knowledge of GHG inventories, carbon markets, renewable energy integration, and sustainable development practices.

  • Hands-on experience in preparing climate impact reports, EIAs/IEEs with climate components, and policy recommendations.

  • Familiarity with climate models, GIS tools, and analytical software for climate risk analysis.

  • Strong understanding of national climate change policies and international agreements (Paris Agreement, COP commitments, etc.).

  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and lead climate-focused initiatives within construction and infrastructure sectors.
