Job Title: Delivery Associate Legal
Reporting To: Senior Program Manager
Location: LAS, FTC, Karachi
Contract Type: Deliverables Based Consulting Contract
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Delivery Associate Legal will play a critical role in the implementation and monitoring of legal aspects of the project, working under the guidance of the Senior Program Manager. This position will focus on ensuring that the project activities pertaining to providing legal support and coordination with community lawyers are in line with project objectives. She/He will comply with legal requirements, facilitating the provision of legal aid, and addressing other legal concerns in line with the project's objectives, while integrating the M&E Plan and focusing on KPIs.

The Legal Aid Society (LAS) is a Not-For-Profit organization dedicated to ensuring accessible, effective, and expedient justice for marginalized and underprivileged communities across Pakistan. Key Responsibilities:
Legal Aid and Consultation:
- Facilitate the provision of legal support to the identified minority communities and beneficiaries of this project, coordinating closely with external legal partners.
- Conduct preliminary legal reviews and consultations as required by the project objectives.
Policy Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work on policy papers, submissions, and legal briefs in areas relevant to the project.
- Liaise with government departments, judiciary bodies, and other stakeholders to advocate for policy changes and reforms.
Legal Awareness:
- Organize and participate in legal awareness campaigns, workshops, and training programs in line with the project's objectives.
- Support in the development of informational materials, handbooks, or toolkits to educate the community on legal issues.
Legal Compliance and Risk Assessment:
- Work closely with the Senior Program Manager to ensure that all project activities adhere to the relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct periodic legal risk assessments and prepare reports for management review.
Team Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work in close collaboration with functional departments, including the research and communication and M&E teams, to align legal objectives with broader project goals.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on legal activities for submission to the Senior Program Manager.
Ethical Compliance and Gender Sensitivity:
- Ensure the data confidentiality. Ensure all legal activities are conducted ethically and in accordance with the project's gender and inclusion guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- A bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) is required, with preference for those holding a master’s degree in a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in legal roles, ideally in the non-profit sector or in projects focused on human rights and social justice.
- Experience in legal research and advocacy is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the legal system and regulatory environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
