Background
LHDP is supporting the implementation of an operational research study in collaboration with WaterAid Pakistan and Health Services Academy to assess the integration of WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and IPC (Infection Prevention and Control) at a model Rural Health Centre in Badin, Sindh. The study aims to generate evidence on the effectiveness of a comprehensive WASH-IPC model that includes infrastructure upgrades, staff training, IPC supply provision, and strengthened monitoring.
Position Summary
The Research Manager/Officer will be responsible for day-to-day coordination and support of all operational research activities at the health facility level. This includes ensuring data collection quality, supporting training delivery, monitoring intervention fidelity, and providing technical backstopping for IPC and WASH compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Support the planning and implementation of all research activities at the facility.

Ensure data collection (quantitative and qualitative) as instructed by the technical lead.

Ensure compliance of WASH and IPC standards through regular on-site supportive supervision.

Assist in training health facility staff on WASH-IPC practices and tools.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including field monitoring reports, checklists, and data logs.

Facilitate communication between the research team, health facility staff, and LHDP and WAP management

Contribute to periodic research updates, learning events, and documentation of findings.

Support the logistical arrangements for field visits, training sessions, and review meetings.
Qualifications and Experience

A degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in health research, monitoring & evaluation, or research program implementation.

Familiarity with WASH, IPC, or quality improvement initiatives in healthcare settings is highly desirable.

Strong coordination, supervision, and communication skills.

Fluency in Sindhi and Urdu; proficiency in English for reporting.

Willingness to be based in Badin and conduct frequent field-level supervision.
