Job Description

Job Title:              Junior Counselor

Responsibilities:

• Work with individuals, groups and communities of GBV survivors.
• Encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences.
• Examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, and positive relationship counselling.
• Work with families with and without disabilities.
• Help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight.
• Refer clients to psychologists and other services.
• Take a holistic (mind and body) approach to mental health care.

Qualification & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Behavioral Sciences with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in counseling, psychosocial support, or community-based work, preferably with survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). Working knowledge of case management, referral pathways, and psychosocial support techniques, along with proficiency in MS Office and good communication skills in Urdu and English, is required.
