Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. This role involves leading the planning, design, and execution of a range of construction projects, including Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) schemes, protection walls, bioengineering initiatives, and other DRR-related infrastructure works. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil engineering, proven project management expertise, and experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.

Job Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Development & Monitoring

  • Oversee the implementation of small-scale DRR infrastructure schemes.
  • Ensure technical supervision and quality assurance of civil works.

Planning & Documentation

  • Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies of Bio engineering and Protection walls sites.
  • Prepare BoQs, technical drawings, and work plans aligned with project standards.
  • Maintain documentation of site progress, material usage, and contractor compliance.

Stakeholder & Community Coordination:

  • Coordinate with Village development committees (VDCs), Project Management Committees, and local stakeholders.
  • Engage communities in participatory infrastructure planning and implementation.
  • Provide technical inputs for the formation of Operations and Maintenance committees (O & M).

Compliance & Safeguarding:

  • Ensure all construction work complies with safety, environmental, and safeguarding standards.
  • Promote gender-responsive and inclusive design principles in all infrastructure interventions.

Job Specifications:

Education & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or DAE in Civil.
  • Familiarity with DRR related physical infrastructure schemes.
  • Strong knowledge of community-based infrastructure practices.

Work Experience:

  • Proven experience BSC civil (3+ years) or DAE in civil (5+ years) in project management and implementation, preferably in the field of DRR related infrastructure, or community development
  • Experience working in rural or low-resource settings is desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong Management and planning skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other engineering tools.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with communities and contractors.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple field sites.
  • Commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and gender equality.
