Position: 02 (Open to candidates who can commence immediately)
Location: Lahore, Pakistan (Lahore-based candidates only)
Reports to: Manager Finance & Accounts

Salary: PKR 80,000 pm (Medical Allowance, day time meal) negotiable

Education: Bachelors/BS/MBA in Finance or Accounting
Role Purpose
The Accounts Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations, and ensuring strict adherence to the regulatory frameworks governing NGOs in Pakistan. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial integrity and transparency of Al Mustafa Welfare Trust.
Core Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Bookkeeping
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all local and foreign currency accounts.
- Manage petty cash and oversee the disbursement of funds according to organizational policy.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Taxation
- FBR Compliance: Ensure timely calculation, deduction, and deposit of Withholding Tax (WHT) on vendor payments and salaries. Assist in filing monthly/annual tax returns.
- PCP & EAD Standards: Assist in maintaining documentation required for Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) certification and Economic Affairs Division (EAD) compliance for foreign funding.
- Stay updated on the latest tax laws and NGO-related circulars issued by the Government of Pakistan.
3. Reporting & Audit
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
- Prepare project-specific financial reports for donors and stakeholders as required.
4. Payroll & Administrative Support
- Process monthly payroll, ensuring all statutory deductions (EOBI, Income Tax) are accurately calculated.
- Maintain an organized filing system for all physical and digital financial records for easy retrieval.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Bachelors or BS in Accounting/Finance. An MBA in Finance or progress toward a professional qualification (ACCA/ICMA/CA Inter) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in an accounting role. Candidates with prior experience in the NGO/Not-for-Profit sector will be given preference.
- Technical Knowledge: * Strong understanding of IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Direct experience with FBR portals and tax filing processes.
- Familiarity with NGO-specific requirements (Provincial Charity Commission, PCP, EAD).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (Advanced) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or ERP systems).
