Brief Introduction of the Project:
Penny Appeal Pakistan (PAPK), with the support of UNICEF, has launched a comprehensive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project in Ahmadpur Sial, District Jhang, Punjab. The initiative is designed to enhance access to safe water and improved sanitation facilities for both households and schools, addressing key gaps that directly influence community health, hygiene, and overall well-being.
As part of this project, PAPK will construct household hand pumps to ensure a dependable supply of clean drinking water. Additionally, toilet blocks will be built in schools, providing children with safe, gender-segregated sanitation facilities that promote healthy hygiene behaviors and contribute to a more conducive learning environment.
The project will be delivered in close coordination with UNICEF, local authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure that all interventions are inclusive, sustainable, and aligned with established WASH standards. Through these efforts, Penny Appeal aims to achieve long-lasting, community-driven improvements in public health, hygiene practices, and the overall quality of life for the people of Ahmadpur Sial.
