Consultancy Objectives:
The Subject Experts will facilitate breakout sessions during the Youth Summits organized under the Aawaz II program in Peshawar, KP, and Lahore, Punjab. Each subject expert will engage participants to enhance their capacity and understanding on one of the following topics:
- Tech Facilitated GBV
- Youth Engagement for Preventing GBV
- Youth Engagement for Preventing Child Marriage
- Youth Addressing Intolerance and Discrimination.
- The experts will also participate in orientation meetings with the Programme Management Unit (PMU) and SPO for planning and coordination
The Aawaz II programme, managed by the British Council, promotes the rights of women, youth, and marginalized groups in KP and Punjab by addressing child marriage, gender-based violence (GBV), and social exclusion through awareness, behavioral change, and community engagement.
The Subject Experts will:
- Engage participants of the Youth Summit in breakout sessions to build understanding and capacity on the assigned thematic areas.
- Participate in preparation/orientation meetings with PMU and SPO.
- Deliver structured, interactive, and informative sessions ensuring alignment with Aawaz II themes
- Attend the orientation meeting with PMU and SPO before the summit.
- Deliver a 2-hour session during the Youth Summit in the respective province.
- Facilitate participant engagement and discussion during the session.
- Coordinate with PMU and SPO on logistics and session planning.
- Provide feedback and reflections post-session if required
Deliverables:
- Conduct one 2-hour session during the Youth Summit
- Active participation in the pre-event orientation meeting
Requirements:
- 15 years of experience in the development/social sector.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate group exercises and discussions.
- Experience of conducting workshops with communities and civil society on gender, child marriage, Tech Facilitated GBV, and inclusion of vulnerable groups.
- Proven experience of developing and delivering sessions for youth on Aawaz II thematic topics including gender, GBV, child marriage, inclusion, and social cohesion.
- Experience in facilitating sessions on prevention of different forms of GBV such as TFGBV and domestic violence.
- Experience of developing and delivering sessions for youth groups on social issues.
- Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt facilitation methods for youth-focused and inclusive events.
- Expertise in implementing capacity building activities in KP and Punjab, specifically focusing on the rights of women, youth, religious minorities, persons with disabilities, transgender persons, and other vulnerable groups.
- Mandatory experience in gender mainstreaming and social inclusion
