Job Description:

The District Field Supervisor (DFS) will be responsible for the overall implementation of TB Program activities in District Pishin in line with the operational guidelines of PPM, ECF, ACF, Specimen Transportation, and TPT interventions. The DFS will serve as the key field-level staff ensuring coordination with public and private health facilities, community stakeholders, DTC, DLS, TB screeners, laboratories, and other program actors. The position requires extensive field travel for mapping, case finding, patient follow-up, contact screening, community engagement, documentation, reporting, and conducting chest camps and quarterly review meetings.

Main Responsibilities:

Planning & Coordination

  • Prepare monthly field activity plans and DFS workplans in coordination with the Regional Coordinator and District Officer (where applicable).
  • Coordinate regularly with DTC, DLS, TB screeners, private GPs, hospitals, labs, X-ray and Xpert sites for smooth implementation of TB interventions.
  • Maintain liaison with community notables, local influencers, and relevant stakeholders for community gatherings and chest camps             

 Mapping, Field Implementation & Provider Engagement

  • Conduct comprehensive mapping of private healthcare providers (GPs, hospitals, labs, pharmacies) in consultation with district authorities as per mapping guidelines.
  • Develop and annually update the district profile, including population data, list of healthcare providers, CBOs, LHWs, and area influencers.
  • Conduct regular follow-up visits to assigned health facilities to ensure proper use of TB R&R tools, availability of drugs, reagents, and supplies.

 Patient Registration, Follow-Up & Case Management

  • Ensure timely registration of all TB patients via R&R tools or DHIS2 Tracker.
  • Conduct follow-up of all registered TB patients, especially delayed/missed-dose and loss-to-follow-up cases.
  • Facilitate inter-district transfers and ensure treatment continuation with coordination between districts.
  • Ensure HIV testing of all TB patients and referral of positive cases to ART centers.

Contact Screening & TPT

  • Conduct contact screening for all bacteriologically positive TB cases and maintain district-level contact screening and TPT registers.
  • Refer household contacts for X-ray screening, physician assessment, and facilitate TPT initiation of eligible contacts.
  • Coordinate closely with TPT counselors (where applicable).

Specimen Transportation & RR Cases

  • Ensure sputum collection and transport to Xpert sites where ST intervention or onsite Xpert is not available.
  • Coordinate with PMDT site for registration of RR cases and share data with RC monthly on RR templates.

Reporting, Documentation & Meeting Management

  • Prepare and submit monthly workplans, monthly progress reports, activity records, and photographs to Regional Coordinator.
  • Support the District Officer in consolidation of district-level plans and reports.
  • Organize Quarterly Review Meetings (QRMs) with DTC and ensure participation of facility staff and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate supervisory visits from Mercy Corps, NTP, PTP, WHO, GF, LFA, and other partners.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in trainings, orientations, and refresher sessions.
  • Adhere to SPO & Mercy Corps program guidelines, protocols, and reporting procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in field-based health programs, community mobilization, or TB-related projects.
  • Experience working in District Pishin or adjacent districts preferred.
  • Understanding of TB control program operations (training will be provided).
