General Position Summary

This role, situated within the Data Management Unit of the TB Program, operates under the guidance of the Senior Coordinator of Data Management. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in conducting monthly data validation for all Sub-Recipients (SRs), overseeing the performance of these entities. Responsibilities include ensuring the timely submission of reports by partners, verifying data accuracy in both digital and hardcopy formats, and conducting periodic data validation exercises with assigned SRs. Additionally, the individual will contribute insights for the preparation of management letters addressed to SRs regarding the reports.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct periodic data validation exercises including on-site visits, virtual checks and collaborate with SRs to validate data accuracy.
2. Execute monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, and annual data validation for all assigned SRs. This includes review and validation of both electronic (MIS/DHIS II tracker) and hard copy of data to identify and rectify discrepancies.
3. Compilation and consolidation of their respective assigned SRs in program areas.
4. Build capacity of DFSs/district teams on data quality and reporting.
5. Reconcile MIS, DHIS2 and hard data with monthly reports.
6. Assist data team in designing and development of tools to be used for recording, reporting, analysis purpose.
7. Assist data team during capacity building and data quality audits of SRs.
8. Assist data team in development of dashboards, analysis, reports, presentations using Excel, Power BI, MIS, DHIS2 and Power Point.
9. Provide constructive feedback to SRs based on the validation exercises and offer training as needed to improve data quality and reporting practices.
10. Contribute inputs for SRs’ management letters to Advisor Reporting and Coordination, including findings, achievements and areas for improvement and ensure that management letter effectively communicate insights and recommendations derived from data validation activities.
11. Work closely with Senior Coordinator Data Management to ensure overall data accuracy across all assigned SRs, timely communication of issues and support to address these issues.
12. Any other task assigned by the supervisor and management.

Works Directly With: ECF, ACF, PPM, Specimen Transportation, TPT/TB-HIV & CHTB teams, Data Management team, MEL team, PR Unit


Knowledge and Experience

Master's degree in a relevant field such as Data Management, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline, with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel and large data sets. Working knowledge of Power BI preferable.
3 years of (minimum) experience in data validation or data management, preferably in the context of public health programs. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with Sub-Recipients, convey feedback, and contribute to management letters. Proven ability to identify and address data-related challenges, proposing effective solutions to enhance data quality.
