HDF is a humanitarian organization, founded in 1997 under the mentorship of Dr. Mahbub Ul Haq (late) — one of the visionaries of International Development, as a gift to Pakistan by Pakistani Diaspora, on its 50th Independence Day. We have successfully implemented a holistic model of community development to achieve Sustainable Development Goal's (SDGs) by serving partner communities in 12 districts of Pakistan since the last 25 years. Our quest for positive social change to remote and marginalized communities remains at the forefront, and we at the foundation, work tirelessly to help the communities who are most vulnerable. During the course, we have directly reached out to over 3 million people through several programs and projects across more than 7000 villages, bringing them support in health, especially awareness of infectious diseases, education, livelihood, and disaster preparedness. We help transform communities with progressive and impactful programs, successfully improving the quality of lives across Pakistan. Working in four provinces of Pakistan and AJK, HDF strives to meet the needs of the most vulnerable, facilitating them towards a better present and a brighter future.

 

Overview

 

As a Content Writer Intern at HDF's Head Office in Islamabad, you will play a crucial role in preserving the organization's legacy and ensuring that its contributions to society are recognized and celebrated. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct research and document Human Development Foundation – HDF’s history, including its founding, prominent members, key milestones and its transformative impact on communities across Pakistan. Additionally, you will also be responsible for creating engaging and informative content that accurately reflects the organization's mission and values for HDF’s social media and website. As a qualified candidate with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, you will help HDF achieve its vision of positively transforming the lives of the most vulnerable communities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Assist the Communications Team with communication-related tasks for special projects.

• Conduct thorough research on the organization's history, including reviewing documents and archives, interviewing stakeholders, and visiting relevant locations.

• Write compelling and accurate narratives that captures the organization's history.

• Create and maintain an organized database of historical information, including documents, photographs, and artifacts.

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure that historical information is accurately reflected in promotional materials and other communications.

• Provide guidance and support to other departments and stakeholders on the organization's history and impact.

• Continuously update and expand the organization's historical database as new information becomes available.

• Develop engaging and informative content for organization’s social media platforms.

• Perform research to ensure the accuracy of the content

• Monitor content performance and provide feedback

• Track and analyze content metrics

• Any other task assigned by supervisor.

 

Skills & Qualification

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field

• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources

• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy

• Knowledge of SEO principles, archival and preservation practices

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications

• Familiarity with the development sector is a plus.

• Proficiency in Urdu writing at an advanced level is highly desired.
