Job Description:

Position Objective and Specific Tasks:

The Finance Coordinator will report directly to the Manager Finance and provide support in various financial functions to ensure compliance with DOPASI Foundation policies and procedures. He/she will be responsible for maintaining financial records, posting day-to-day entries, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining financial and tax records.

Key Responsibilities:

As directed by the Manager Finance or his/her designee, the Finance Coordinator shall perform the following functions:

  • Assist in supervising the accounting cycle, including journal entries, payment requests, and general ledger reconciliations under the guidance of the Manager Finance.
  • Support the Manager Finance in ensuring incurred costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable according to DOPASI Foundation policies.
  • Aid in preparing accurate and timely financial plans, invoices, reports, and other financial documents consistent with DOPASI Foundation guidelines.
  • Assist in reviewing and processing accounting documents and transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Support payroll activities and assist in allocating payroll costs to appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in monitoring financial reports relative to budget and monthly forecasting.
  • Assist in the preparation of advance requisitions and wire transfer requests for submission, and manage local bank accounts to ensure availability of funds.
  • Assist in reviewing internal financial control systems to ensure appropriate mechanisms, procedures, and systems are in place.
  • Aid in ensuring proper safeguards of funds and compliance with established DOPASI Foundation financial and accounting procedures.
  • Assist in processing advance/settlement/payment/reimbursement requests for employees, suppliers and vendors.
  • Support in performing internal audits of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and petty cash.
  • Assist in overseeing monthly bank reconciliations and reconciliation of petty cash.
  • Support in the submission of tax withholdings to relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
  • Provide support to technical, Operations, Procurement & HR departments on finance-related matters.
  • Liaise with tax advisors for the submission of withholding tax statements and statutory obligations.
  • Prepare and review responses against tax notices received from relevant authorities.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Manager Finance or their designee.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications. 

The individual holding this position shall possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, or similar area; master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience; development sector experience with managing international donor funded projects is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel as well as electronic communications programs required.
  • Excellent English reading, writing, and listening skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Pakistan Tax Code.
  • Self-motivation and guidance; demonstrated initiative and self-motivation in handling all assigned tasks required.

Authorized Workday/week

The work week will start on Monday and conclude at the end of the day, Friday.
