It is therefore very important with good, motivated Family Doctor that not only can create good professional care and follow-up of the individual patient, but also could create good well-being and motivation for each individual patient in his/her and other department.

Role and Responsibility : 

  1. To be responsible for all activities in her/his department in the hospital/clinic if not any specific Head Family Doctor is appointed for that department.
  2. To be consultant in all matters concerning Family Doctor.
  3. Ensure that all kinds of equipment for use during any kind of examination, surgery and operation is tested and safe to be used according to instructions for control and test before use.
  4. To be responsible for all use of drugs and medicine in the Family Doctor Department.
  5. Follow procedures and QA guidelines established at the hospital/clinic management and contribute to their further development.
  6. Secure correct documentation of her/his own practice.
  7. In cases of mistakes or deviations, follow procedures for deviation reports and reports to Clinic Manager without any delay.
  8. Be responsible for her/his own professional development and competence, attend courses and meetings on relevant topics arranged by the hospital/clinic management.
  9. Participate in teaching at all suitable level.
  10. Contribute to good communication and cooperation between all employees and patients.
  11. To participate in packing and unpacking the Clinic when it is relocating.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification : 
  1. Diploma in Family Doctor from a recognized school of medical education (minimum of 6 years duration or more) and a minimum of 3 years post-graduation work experience.
  2. License/registration to practice as a professional Family Doctor in his/her own country confirmed with stamp and signature from Ministry of Health contra confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and contra confirmed by the Norwegian Embassy or Consulate in she/her home country.
  3. Further formal education and training in health administration and education is desirable.
  4. The Family Doctor will have management experience from a similar position.
  5. All diploma from her/his medical education and other diploma from education related to her/his position in the hospital/clinic has to be confirmed with stamp and signature from Ministry of Health contra confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and contra confirmed by the Norwegian Embassy or Consulate in her/his home country without any exception.
