Relevant Experience:

 

  1. 1.     

 

3.1    Essential:

  • A minimum experience of Three Years Communication & Stakeholders engagement Officer in development context preferably a proven experience in more than one sector like Inclusive Livelihood, Climate Change, Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction, and social sector development.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
  • Understanding of livelihood sector, resilience, social protection schemes etc.
  • Understanding of theory of change aims to “showcase” these viable inclusive, responsible and resilient smallholders led business models with involved stakeholders.

3.2    Desirable:

  • Understanding of livelihood, food & Nutrition Security of multi-sector programmes.
  • Understanding of Rights based approaches to programming, knowledge of CHS, SDGs and SRPs.
  • Experience working in either a not-for-profit organisation or agency
  • Experience working in international development Ability to take Initiative, drive to achieve results, ability to develop effective organizations. Understanding & experience of gender equity issues & their relevance to humanitarian response work.

Must have a Master/professional Degree from reputable recognised University in English, Economics, Rural Development, Development Studies, Project Management, Mass communication, Social Sciences, LAW graduate or any other relevant subject. Preference will be given to LAW graduate with development sector experience. 

Job Description:

 

  1. 1.    Purpose of the Position:

 

DOABA Foundation is a National level not for profit organisation, working with the vision “Disaster prone communities becoming Self-reliant in pursuit of their common interests”. Currently DOABA Foundation is implementing a three-years and six-month programme LANN + on food and nutrition security. The LANN + Programme has different components with focus on socio-economic Development/Livelihood and Disaster Risk Reduction aspects.

The Communication and Stakeholder engagement Officer is required to provide strategic communications and the operational management of Stakeholder Engagement and Partners stakeholder. The Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Officer is required to plan, develop, and execute communication initiatives, promotions, campaigns, and projects that engage key stakeholders, staff, community members and Networks with the strategic plan for the better results. This position provides timely, effective and accurate delivery of communications, publications and connection to internal and external stakeholders for the effective implementation of LANN + Program.

The Communication and Stakeholder engagement Officer will bridge the gap between communities and relevant stakeholders through regular visits. He/ She will develop village development plan (VDP) and community development plan (CDP) and integrate these plans with District level annual development plan (ADP). He/ She will responsible to celebrate international days and submit the reports to project manager. The Communication and Stakeholder engagement Officer is responsible for ensuring regular meetings of UMAC, TMAC and DMAC. He/ She will responsible for executing Multi Sectorial Nutrition Strategy through project activities.

The Communication and Stakeholder engagement Officer will provide services, includes coordinating event information materials, and communications for Doaba Foundation using a wide-range of targeted channels. The Communication and Stakeholder engagement Officer is responsible for the promotion of program and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to optimize participation in program, delivery of services, link communities with govt subsidies schemes, aware about the policies, LAWs and schemes relevant and  benefit to peoples.

The communication and stakeholder engagement officer provide support to social mobilization teams, communities, CSOs and other relevant for linkages development, filling of application forms, to understand the schemes, policies and LAWs, of different departments at district, provincial and National level. He/She will be responsible for the meeting with relevant stakeholders like, communities, departments, extension service providers, implementers and policy makers for the identification of issues and their solutions. 

 

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  1. The communication and stakeholder engagement officer will be responsible to understand the organization systems, policies, manual’s, strategies and knowledge for the better understanding.
  2. He/She will be responsible for the understanding of project documents like, project proposal, LFA, modalities, targets, Detailed Implementation Plan (DiP), MEAL plan and timeline etc.
  3. He/She will be responsible for the development of strategies, methodologies and work plan according to deliverable and to achieve the overall objectives/Outcome/Goal of the project. 
  4. He/She will be responsible to develop and execute a highly-detailed operational partners and stakeholder engagement plan for project implementation, drawing on the objectives, goals which are aligned with the Strategic Plan for the project objectives.
  5. He/She will be responsible to build and sustain relationship and improved communications with partners, internal and external stakeholders, in order to promote to participation in Doaba Foundation programs, activities, services and events.
  6. He/She will be responsible to provide support to social mobilization teams, communities, CSOs and other relevant for linkages development, filling of application forms, to understand the schemes, policies and LAWs, of different departments at district, provincial and National level.

  10. He/She will be responsible for the provision of input/data/information for the preparation of Monthly Doaba Guzzeettee.  
  11. He/She will be responsible for the identification of issues and opportunities for future working and project submission.
  12. He/She will be responsible for development of Village development plan (VDP), Community development plans (CDP) with the engagement of relevant stakeholders.
  13. He/She will be responsible to bridge the gap between community and stakeholders with regular visits.
  14. He/She will be responsible for the submission of timely reports (activity report, event report, meeting report, visit report, monthly report, quarter report, annual report and end report).
  15. 1.    Accountability:
    • Support the Strategy and Performance Manager in developing and implementing the Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
    • Identify the project stakeholders, understand their communications needs and make recommendations about appropriate engagement methods to meet those needs.
    • Develop a system to collate and distribute feedback received from stakeholders via Member activities, consultations and other interactions.
    • Identify and develop best practice for the Authority in relation to effective communications and stakeholder engagement within the public, private and third sectors 
    • Produce a range of materials for implementing and managing staff including information for the website and content for internal bulletins and distributions.
    • Produce a range of materials for external audiences on final publication of the annual Policing Plan; Annual Report and Yearly Strategic Plan where appropriate working with the Doaba Foundation.

    6.1 Internal

    • Most frequent contact inside the organization with senior lines, team members (Project Coordinator, Livelihood and Agriculture expert, MEAL Officer, Social Mobilizers), Admin & Finance Officer and Support Staff.
