ROLE PURPOSE:

The program coordinator will be responsible to support AD in program operation in Sindh province and work as a link between Area Director and Sindh team.

The position holder will work closely with Area director, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budgets to meet the set timelines, . will assist in implementation, follow up and evaluation of multiple sectors activities, targeted by Save the Children in Sindh.

The post is specifically oriented towards the emergency response in the context of the flood response 2022, and special attention will be made on the integration among different core sectors of Save the Children such as Health, nutrition, food security livelihoods, WASH, education, Shelter, and child protection.

Program coordinator will be resource person for program information. Coordinating and following up with relevant sectors including MEAL and IPs as required. And represent SCI at Local working groups and attend coordination meetings at district level with NGOs/INGOs, UN and other stakeholders.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 Programme Coordination:

  • Assist AD in planning and coordination of programs and their activities.
  • Support and coordinate to oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached.
  • Coordinate cross-project activities.
  • Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events.
  • Oversee the use of technology for program operations, such as video conferencing technology, presentation software and other communications technologies, for instance, Create and maintain program records, reports, presentations, and proposals.
  • Facilitate positive relations between the program team and Area Director and other departments within the organization and including implementing partners.
  • Coordinating with various sectors & making protocols as per the instructions of the Area Director.
  • Coordinating with internal teams, sector managers for information as per instructions given and reporting to the Area Director effectively and efficiently.

Technical support and quality assurance:

  • Support the Area Director Sindh in the day-to-day management of the project, including financial accountability, staffing, work planning, and reporting.
  • Facilitate Area director in Monitoring, implementation of program policies and practices.
  • Work closely with Area director, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budgets to meet the set timelines.
  • Support the Area Director to provide management and implementation oversight, from project kickoff to closeout phase.
  • Oversee on-going quality assurance and quality improvement for technical activities.
  • Preparation of Minutes of Meetings (MoM), field visit plans for visitors, program meetings’ agendas and dissemination to all concerned.
  •  Keeping the records of minutes of meetings (MoM) and keeping the Area Director updated.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners, and stakeholders at Sindh and regional levels.
  • Assist Area director to Identify issues and risks related to project implementation in a timely manner and ensures appropriate program adjustments.
  • If required, review and provide feedback to documents developed by the IPs: proposals, implementation plans, reports and monitoring plans.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or directed by Area director Sindh.

 Capacity building:

  • Under Supervision of the Area Director, assist and implement capacity-building plan for save the children staff, implementing partners and communities.
  • Provide support in capacity building trainings and developing protocols, SoPs, ToRs, when required.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate training as needed.

Coordination and Representation:

  • Participate under the delegation of the Area Director or accompany the Area Director representing Save the Children at meetings for humanitarian coordination at different level.
  • Facilitate the proper circulation of information on the program related issues.
  • Regular visits to save the children intervention sites, IPs including but not limited to support to donor and consultant visits for the Sindh teams.
  • When required liaise at district and provincial level meetings with different Government departments, NGOs/INGOS, UN and government agencies at district and provincial level, for ensuring good working relationship and timely facilitation for save the children inversions.

Monitoring, reporting and documentation:

  • Undertake regular field visits to review field findings and action plan development.
  • Provide written monthly updates to Area Director Sindh on progress and challenges.
  • File and archive documents related to the Area Director’s responsibilities.
  • Review and compile the weekly, monthly, or quarterly reports and send it to the Area Director
  • Prepare and submit reports as required; training reports, situational analysis reports as well as assist MEAL and Comms teams in developing Donor reports.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE.

  • Master/bachelor’s degree in project management, social sciences, or relevant field.
  • 7-9 years’ working experience in Development Sector, working with NGO/INGO in both emergency and development programs.
  • Experience in multi-sector project management / coordination
