U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the “Mechanical Equipment & Appliance Systems Supervisor” position in U.S. Embassy Islamabad.

Basic Function of the Position – Under the general guidance of the New Embassy Compound (NEC) Supervisory Mechanical Engineer, the position oversees the daily management of the NEC mechanical equipment and appliance systems operations and maintenance program. Supervises 6 to 10 Mechanical Equipment Technicians, Residential Electricians, and Trades Helpers and other staff individually and in teams and oversees work of contractors. Applies sound supervisory and management principles and techniques in operating and maintaining the NEC mechanical equipment and appliance systems. Supports project management. Oversees extensive safety program and manages significant and complicated infrastructure and equipment. Manages systems in accordance with Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) standards and the International Building Code (IBC).

Qualification Requirements:

Education: Completion of secondary school certificate (10 years of education) is required and completion of Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics fields from a reputable institution is also required.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ progressive, responsible, professional experience in the operations and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and/or mechanical systems is required.  A minimum of two (2) years' work experience supervising or leading technicians is also required.

Skills And Abilities: Incumbent must be able to lead and supervise individuals and teams including managing the employee performance review process, training, mentoring, and evaluating. The ability to implement mechanical equipment and appliance systems program including determining techniques and tactics, and assigning and monitoring short-term and long-term tasks is required. Must be able to diagnose and analyze mechanical equipment and appliance problems. A valid Pakistani driver's license for Motor Car/Jeep is required. Applicants must show proof that they have a minimum of five years of licensed driving experience. Skills and abilities may be tested.
