Project Details in short:

 

Initiative for Development and Empowerment Axis (IDEA) in partnership with ACTED under the project titled “Education in Emergency- EiE”, provides support in access to education for children who are affected by the current devastating flood, as Education in Emergency – EiE with ensuring arrangement on urgent bases to avoid discontinuation of education of the children in the district of DI Khan, Swat, and Nowshehra.  The project as one of the core objectives works for the continuation of education of the children who face the challenge of discontinuation of their education due to the damage of infrastructure both the residential for their families and schools buildings for the communities in the current devastating flood in their distinct. The project also aims at providing psychosocial support to the children apart from educational services to improve the mental health, psycho-social conditions of the children who are in unusual psychological conditions due to the suddenly occurred disaster of flood in the targeted districts.

IDEA has committed to continue supporting access to basic primary education and psychosocial support for the children in tent schools and to contribute to increasing enrolment and mainstream inclusion of these children after desired improvement both academic and psychosocial of the children in the tagged district.

 

Job Description

 

         I.            Actively participate in meeting for orientation on the project the desired objectives and health screening of the children in the targeted schools of the districts.

       II.            With the consultation of the ECW district team, develop a field visit plan to conduct the heath screening of the children in the targeted schools of the districts.

     III.            Give detailed orientation to the IDEA ECW team and management on the modality and use of tools for health screening of the children in schools. This include the areas in children health covered in the health screening exercise.

    IV.            Develop format in hard copy and data base as tools to update the data of children participated in the health screening.   

      V.            Meet the target of screening of 100 percent children enrolled in targeted schools (29 DI Khan, 19 Nowshehra and 32 Swat).

    VI.            Conduct meeting with the parents and share the treatment needs of children identified with some disease and also share the list of the children with nature and details of the disease with district ECW team leader. 

   VII.            Keep close coordination with the district teams to ensure execution of the field visit plan and meet the set target of the children screening.

 VIII.            Update the data base of the children participated in the health screening in all the targeted schools of the districts.

     IX.            Submit a school wise visit and event report to the IDEA ECW Project team leader and Project Manager.

       X.            Submit a summative report of the Children Health Screening activity as completion report to the IDEA ECW Project team leader and Project Manager.

     XI.            Any other assignment given by the Technical Supervisor / Head of MEAL and Project Manager.

 

Selection Criteria & Skills Required:

  • Knowledge and expertise on Health Screening of the Children as a health professional.
  • Previous exposure of field activities with planning and execution of the field work.   
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to accept diversity in people.
  • Strong sharing attitude and openness to exchange views.
  • Adaptable, committed and flexible attitude.
  • Understands the child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Understands the Protection against exploitation and sexual abuse.
  • Well versed with the workplace sexual harassment policy of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
  • Ability to meet targets within tight deadlines & result-oriented team player.
  • Sound judgment, flexibility, adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
  • Must be Proficient in Computer skills, including MS/World and e­mail.
  • Knowledge and experience of data updating in data base in soft. 
  • Good communication skills

Qualification:    MBBS or equivalent in health / medical / medicine science.   

                             MPH is preferable.  

Experience:        Minimum 5 years in health / medical / medicine science profesion.

                             Minimum 1 year Professional exposure of public health an field work.
