The USAID’s Economic Recovery and Development Activity (USAID-ERDA) is a 5-year activity implemented by a consortium led by Associates in Development (AiD) Pvt Ltd. USAID-ERDA is seeking grant applications from existing, functional and eligible beekeeping enterprises (beekeepers) from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for strengthening of their enterprises through capacity building training and advanced beekeeping tools and equipment. Through this grant support, USAID-ERDA will provide technical assistance (training on advanced beekeeping practices) to 200 potential beekeepers (anticipated number of grantees). Those grantees who successfully complete the training will be provided in-kind grant support (advanced beekeeping toolkit) for strengthening of their existing beekeeping business.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 The eligibility criteria for the proposed grant support and training are as follows: 

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
• The applicant must have an existing beekeeping business (business set-up/office/facility) in one of the selected districts (Peshawar, Swat and Karak). Must be verified by the concerned government department or chamber of commerce and Industry or relevant business association.
• The business must have been operational at a minimum for the last three (03) years. The USAID-ERDA team may conduct a physical verification to confirm the existence and operational status of the business.
• Must have a minimum of 80 functional and active bee hives and produce honey from these bee hives. Preference will be given to beekeepers with maximum number of active and functional bee hives.
• Applicants must be willing to utilize the in-kind grant support for intended purpose as per requirement of the USAID-ERDA.
• Applicant must be willing to participate in USAID-ERDA’s relevant training and capacity-building programs, exposure visits, etc.

TYPE OF SUPPORT

 •           In-kind Grant Support of up-to PKR 200,000 per enterprise

•  Verification letter from relevant chamber of commerce and industry or relevant business association about   business ownership and existence (Mandatory)
•  Any other information / document related to your current business such as sales receipts and contracts etc. (Optional)
