Relevant Experience: Advanced degree in Public Health, Communication, Social Sciences, or a related field & Minimum of 5 years of experience in SBCC program management, preferably in health and nutrition.

Job Description:

Mission 1: Develop and Implement SBCC Strategies and Interventions

  • Develop comprehensive SBCC strategies tailored to the health and nutrition needs of target populations.
  • Integrate cross-cutting themes such as gender, protection, and cultural sensitivity into SBCC strategies.
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure SBCC strategies align with overall project objectives.
  • Intervention Design and Implementation:
  • Design and implement SBCC interventions, including campaigns, community mobilization activities, and educational materials.
  • Utilize various communication channels, such as community meetings, mass media, and digital platforms, to disseminate key messages.
  • Engage community leaders, health workers, and volunteers to promote and support SBCC activities.
  • Ensure timely implementation and adaptation of SBCC activities based on community feedback and monitoring data.

Mission 2: Capacity Building and Technical Support

  • Plan and conduct capacity-building workshops and training sessions for staff, volunteers, and community members on SBCC approaches and techniques.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and mentorship to field staff and partners to enhance their SBCC skills.
  • Develop and distribute training manuals and materials to support SBCC capacity-building efforts.
  • Community Engagement and Mobilization:
  • Conduct community assessments to identify key behaviors, influencers, and barriers related to health and nutrition.
  • Facilitate community engagement sessions to foster dialogue, address misconceptions, and encourage behavior change.
  • Support the establishment and strengthening of community-based structures, such as health committees and peer groups, to sustain SBCC activities.

Mission 3: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Develop and implement M&E frameworks to track the progress and impact of SBCC interventions.
  • Collect and analyze data on behavior change indicators and community feedback to inform program adjustments.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor the quality and effectiveness of SBCC activities.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare regular reports on SBCC activities, outcomes, and lessons learned for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document best practices, success stories, and innovative approaches to share with the broader program team and partners.
  • Ensure all SBCC materials and data are properly archived and accessible for future reference.

Mission 4: Coordination and Collaboration

Internal Coordination:

  • Work closely with program teams, including health, nutrition, and MHPSS officers, to ensure integration of SBCC into all project components.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to share updates, challenges, and opportunities for collaboration.

External Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with government health departments, NGOs, and other partners to align SBCC efforts and leverage resources.
  • Represent ACF in relevant SBCC forums, working groups, and coordination meetings at district and provincial levels.
  • Foster partnerships with local media, influencers, and other stakeholders to amplify SBCC messages.

 

Mission 3: Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality and child protection sensitivity

  • Read and ensure a full understanding and promotion of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies
  • Implement all work related activities with a gender, inclusion and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries
  • Ensure and encourage the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
Qualification and experience:
  • Advanced degree in Public Health, Communication, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SBCC program management, preferably in health and nutrition.
  • Experience working with refugee populations and in emergency settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in strategy development, community engagement, and capacity building.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset
