A project in Swat District, KP, aims to promote social cohesion by empowering youth and creating sustainable pathways for peace and stability in the region through social entrepreneurship.
Job Purpose:
The Psychologist will play a crucial role in implementing the “Partnerships for Change” project by conducting psychological assessments, data collection, and evaluations. He/she will support the project’s objective to foster community resilience through the Social Lab initiatives. This role involves designing and conducting psychometric evaluations for primary and secondary benefactrices, providing mental health training sessions, and ensuring data-driven insights for project impact assessment.
Key Responsibilities:

Trainees Assessment and Screening:
-
Develop selection criteria in consultation with Project Manager, Team leads and M&E
-
Conduct psychometric evaluations and interviews with shortlisted trainees.

Administer personality, resilience, reasoning, and judgment tests to assess suitability, confidence, and potential for successful project participation.

Document detailed profiles for each trainee and contribute to the selection process.

Community/Village Psychological Profiling:
-
Assess and document psychological risk factors and resilience indicators within the selected community/village.

Work with local stakeholders to gather baseline data on behaviors, socio-economic factors, and attitudes related to violent extremism.

Design comparative studies using pre- and post-intervention psychometric results for Group A (project participants/trainees) and Group B (community control group).

Mental Health Training and Workshops:

Develop and deliver mental health and wellness session, including stress relief, breathing exercises for trainees during Social Lab Training.

Provide guidance on conflict resolution techniques, focusing on fostering positive communication and peaceful conflict management within communities.

Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting:
-
Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data throughout the project phases, ensuring accuracy in recording participants' progress.

Prepare periodic evaluation reports on psychological trends, highlighting the effectiveness of training interventions on participants’ resilience and attitudes.

Collaborate with the M&E Officer to ensure that data collected aligns with project objectives and reporting requirements.

Skills Requirements:

Proficient in administering and interpreting psychometric assessments, personality tests, and other psychological evaluation tools.

Strong ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data for tracking progress and impact assessment.

Ability to work effectively in culturally diverse settings, especially within conflict-affected communities.

Skilled in building trust and rapport with community members, with sensitivity to local customs and norms.

Competent in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.

Ability to conduct conflict management workshops and support peaceful community-police relations.

Skilled in data collection, entry, and management, with proficiency in data analysis software or tools.

Experience in generating detailed reports and summaries of psychological evaluations, project progress, and impact studies.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially for documenting participant profiles and providing clear feedback and report writing as per the deliverables.

Team-oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively with trainers, community mobilizers, and other project staff.
Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Master’s degree or Higher in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Counselling.

Experience: Minimum of 3 yearspractical working experience or in a similar role with community projects, conflict-prone regions, or development programs.

Fluency in English, Urdu (both written and spoken) and Pushto is essential.
-
Willingness to travel and work in field settings within Swat District.

Strong ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Language Proficiency:
