Terms of Reference for consultant Training agency/firm
Introduction:
Right To Play International is a global non-governmental organization that uses the transformative power of play to protect, educate, and empower children and youth facing adversity. The organization helps one million children weekly in more than 20 countries build essential life skills and better futures while driving lasting social change. The organization is registered with the Government of Pakistan and has implemented numerous projects in over 20 districts in KP, Sindh & Islamabad since 2008.
The Opportunity:
Right To Play is seeking comprehensive submissions from potential training firms/agencies, which should include a detailed technical proposal, financial proposal, company profile, work plan, and the full profiles of the trainer/trainers involved in the project. This consulting opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a meaningful initiative focused on empowering 125 young women.
The women, aged 17 to 34 came from different communities of Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore with various educational and financial backgrounds who are currently enrolled in different Training and Vocational Institutes to gather necessary skills. As part of the consulting team, your experienced trainers will be responsible for designing and delivering effective training programs.
This program will provide tailored training to empower young women in their career aspirations.
- For those interested in entrepreneurship (25 participants), the curriculum will cover essential skills in business proposal writing, risk assessment and analysis, leveraging social media for effective business promotion, market research, financial management, and legal considerations for starting a business.
- The program will also equip 56 young women seeking employment with the tools they need to succeed in their job search. Training will focus on effective job search strategies, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, networking skills, and understanding different employment sectors.
- Finally, 44 young women interested in self-employment will receive training on freelancing, utilizing social media to deliver services effectively, developing a strong online presence, managing client relationships, and identifying potential markets for their skills.
Timeline:
The training program is scheduled to be completed by the end of May 2025 by submitting a detailed completion report. By joining the initiative in mid-April, with workshops set to begin in May, your team will play a crucial role in shaping the futures of these young women. You’ll help them gain confidence, develop leadership skills, improve their understanding of social media, apps, and technology, and enhance their communication skills. This training will empower them to secure brighter futures, whether through employment or entrepreneurship.
This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young women, contributing to their personal growth and financial independence.
Technical proposal is required from firm/agencies for this consultancy and financial budget is PKR 500K including applicable tax.
Responsibilities:
- The trainer is responsible for designing and developing a detailed curriculum and training materials for entrepreneurship, self-employment and employment skills, ensuring content is relevant, practical, and tailored to the needs of those young women.
- The trainer will work closely with Right to Play to ensure that the training meets the project’s objectives and is aligned with the organization’s goals of empowering young women and girls.
- Collaborate with the Right to play team to design engaging and interactive trainings sessions that meet the specific needs of the target audience.
- The trainer will ensure the exploration of business opportunities for young women and will deliver sessions on how to use grants, how to make a business profitable, and how to analyse risks in business.
- The trainer is responsible for creating an interactive and engaging learning environment. This includes using different training methods like group discussions, role-playing, case studies, and other activities that encourage participants to actively engage and practice what they learn.
- The trainer will track the progress of the training, gathering feedback from participants and adjusting the training as needed. Regular updates will be provided to Right to Play, highlighting any challenges or improvements in the training sessions.
- The trainer will be responsible for collecting feedback from the participants about the training. Based on this feedback, the firm will prepare a final evaluation report, which includes an assessment of the training’s effectiveness and suggestions for future improvements, and which will be submitted by the end of May 2025.
- The trainer must have presence at all three training locations (Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi), ensuring consistency and continuity across the program. The trainer will be responsible for covering their own travel expenses to and from each location.
- Right To Play will handle all logistical aspects of the training program, including a secure venue, refreshments and any stationery items required for the workshops.
- The firm will ensure that all training activities meet the agreed-upon quality standards and comply with local regulations and Right to Play’s requirements. The content and delivery must align with the project’s objectives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs on entrepreneurship training, especially focused on women and youth. This includes knowledge of identifying business opportunities, developing business plans, managing finances, and making businesses sustainable and profitable.
- The firm should have proven experience in providing employment training, particularly for women and youth. This includes expertise in job search strategies, creating effective CVs and cover letters, preparing for job interviews, and understanding workplace dynamics. The firm should also be skilled in equipping participants with the necessary soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, to increase their employability and success in the job market.
- The firm must be equipped in teaching the use of freelance and how social media can be used to promote their work.
- The firm should have excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate participants, making the training sessions interactive and inspiring.
- The firm should have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive impact with young women from various backgrounds.
- The firm should have knowledge of gender-sensitive methods and a strong commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women.
- The firm should be able to work well in a team, collaborating effectively with other trainers and project stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- The firm should be able to work within the timeline and submission of required reports by Right to play.
